Sour smell on cased PF cakes! HELP PLEASE

My mushroom fairy has cased PF cakes with verm. in fruiting chamber for 5 days looked good, now I went to fan today and damn that smell! Can they be saved? Please help  Looks fine but....

Just one casing ? From how many cakes ?
If a casing smells i would toss it, they are difficult to save from bacteria or yeast contamination. Try to elevate the mycelium and see what's underneath, wear a mask.

Take the casing out of the Pan or holder.

I took most of the casing off. Healthy looking growth under. Smell is now gone and I see some cobweb mold now! Will they be edible??? THanks for responding

Try spraying it with a h2o:h2o2 solution, if it doesn't go away don't risk taking any mushroom growing near the cobweb mold.

sour smell could be bacteria, which you probably won't be able to see macroscopically.

IMushroom fairy will try h2o2. And she will keep a eye on them! THANKS TO ALL WHO HAS RESPONDED. Sour smell is gone ,would it be bacteria? Starting to smell mushroomy again! Can myxillium beat bacteria out and if so, woud they be safe to eat?
