That's pretty cool that they offered you that brother, sounds like you have some good things coming your way. Keep us posted on the yoga, I also dabble a bit in pilates, not as good as the yoga from my experience but I definitely think it is useful for the core.

that's what the girl said. She said yoga is great for stretching and breathing and pilates is good for the core stuff, both of which i want to work, plus it will give me shit to do now that i dont have to work for another month
also, my gym is pretty yuppie orienated (when the dude was selling my renewal to me he said they all get a bit over the meat head bros that go in there and do curlz err'day) so the whole yoga and pilates thing probably won't be very 'spiritually geared' or something
anyway will keep y'all posted. cheers

yeah haha, I walked past one of the classes this morning on my way in (missed it by half an hour otherwise i would have done it) and it was pretty much all hot chicks and one whale up the back blubberin' around.
i give them room though and try not to gawk at them or act all 'macho' and puff up when they come in like just about everyone else there. it's funny how men's attitude change in the gym as soon as a girl walks in.

Yeah I like the balance women bring to the gym lol...its funny like if a real hot girl is giving you too much attention another dude will essentially cock block you and use the machine/weights in front of you

I don't think people have talked about their diets yet...What are you all eating whether it be to lose weight or to bulk? Do you eat the same things everyday? And, why do you eat what you eat?
This is pretty much my diet as of late:
Breakfast: I eat 1 cup of egg whites, low fat cheese, ham, and pretty much anything I can fit into an omelet that is low fat.
Lunch: I eat tuna mixed with apples, low fat mayo just a bit, pickles, low fat cheese, various low fat things for flavor and if I don't eat a tuna salad I eat a simple lean meat sandwich
Dinner: I try and eat chicken or lean meat with some vegetables or fruit
I'm trying to cut out bread from my diet I dunno if this is a good idea or not but I'm currently trying to diet rather than bulk. Also no sodas or fast food or any fatty shit I aim for majority protein some carbs and low fat meals.
Also I snack a little in between meals with some low salt popcorn, fruit, fiber bar, things that are relatively low cal

I hear you, I go to a studio so it's definitely different. I will say however that you can make it whatever you want it, it's all very personal so if you want the spiritual aspect just zone out an go for it. Out of body out of mind brother.
@tho: I eat a paleo diet myself which includes absolutely no grains what so ever. I tend to do a lot of fasting sometimes going several days without food, even have found from personal experience that little water is needed for several days.
Sounds crazy but I truly believe in the adaptations of the human body and all that it can achieve and overcome. I love to mentally test my limits and push it to the next level; however everything I do I truly believe in and can honestly say I am doing to better myself personally. In my opinion and from my experiences periods of fasting has actually created more energy for me then periods of eating; do I sound crazy yet .

Thanks Indica for diverting to lbs. I should learn but havent learned to divert. And i dont care to internet divert. (lazy) but i still do.
Also can you post your weight/height?? I know you did before. But think about people who forget or just look at the last page. I had to go back and look for your weight/height.
your 225lbs and 6'2? Much bigger then me.
You can rep 275 squats. Shit. Ive never even attempted over 225. And im repin 185 now. Which will prob gain alot in next month. I know i can rep 225.
But your bench is weaker then mine (your long arms) and your deadlift has pretty much reached mine. Will prob surpass me by july. or sooner.
Fucker. You will surpass me. But what am i to do? I simply dont have the mass.
But bad ass. Ima like reading this thread for the future.

yeah mate my lifting weight is a bit all over the place at the moment but i am working on everything. i am hoping to bench 100kgs (220lbs) by mid July and this is looking realistic since I have corrected my form and am benching properly.
I have pretty long legs as well so I don't know if that helps with squats. When I first started my legs were weak as piss, and when I started squatting I did them wrong for ages, so my hamstrings were really underworked, now I'm deep squatting my hamstrings and glutes are fucking exploding. I have asscheeks on my lower back now ha.
Don't feel too bad, just lift to the best of your ability and exceed your own expectations. break your own goals and reach for your own not anybody else's. we are all different and have different abilities. Focus a lot on form, read some books or whatever and see if it helps, I was surprised how tiny changes made big differences.
As for my diet, I'm keeping it pretty good now. I eat no processed foods, drink no alcohol. I don't eat bread (closest i get is weet-bix with my breakfast) and try have minimal rice (only sushi) and don't eat pasta.
For breakfast I have oatz, natural yoghurt, honey, bran and wheat (weet-bix). On a training day if I'm at work I will have this and not eat until after training, if I'm at home I don't 'break the fast' until after training, I find I lift better on an empty stomach (probably my body chewing through my fat reserves as well)
lunch I try and have sushi, sashimi or a lean meat and plenty of tuna, salad as well and a bowl of oatz, fruit etc.
dinner I try and have a lean meat, chicken, plenty of vegetables (raw) broccoli, carrots, capsicum and if I feel like it a big bowl of fruit and natural yoghurt.
I have 2 types of protein, one is a protein isolate which I have before bed with milk and flax oil (no carbs = better sleep) and ZMA pills.
The other is 1:1 carb:protein which I hae 2-3 times daily, one in morning, one PWO/after lunch and maybe one in the afternoon on a training day.
I chew through protein like there is no tomorrow and it's starting to get really expensive. I find I do get REALLY hungry, and feels like I am constantly eating (because I'm not eating many carbs, perhaps I should..) lean. I wake up starving, but when I start training (generally around lunch time) it goes away and I train harder.
I will weigh myself today after yoga (dry)
I want to hear more from Champion de Champiognes, he must be a fucking monster (squats 200kg?440lbs? wtf)
btw, dshow i just type "***kg lbs" into google and it comes up first answer.

well just got back from yoga.
It was Vinyasa. and a LOT harder than I thought it would be! reaffirmed how inflexible I am in a lot of areas, especially the hips.
I was sweating so fucking much, it was pouring out of me for the first half hour. And I was all over the place, I did pretty good with a few of the poses, mostly the ones involving a squat, but the hip twisting and leg flexibility was pretty off.
Another class tomorrow 9:30am (can't remember which type of yoga tomorrow is) before my PT training, then massage after lifting.

Sounds great brother, so did you enjoy it? Awesome schedule you got going tomorrow, keep us posted on how that goes for you. Sounds like you have things back to back to back Remember not to burn yourself out on anything, it is great that you have a bunch of goals and things to work towards, but you also have to remember it will all come in time!

Man, you are very active. I don't know how you have the energy to maintain such a disciplined schedule. You have my respect.
I guess i'll start posting my workouts here instead of the KB thread, as it seems to be dying.
So, ran 10k after work including 5x100m sprints. 5,4,3,2,1 C+P with 40lb KB
Hopefully do 400 swings of so tomorrow, although the sprints leave me feeling less than 100% the next day. We'll see how it goes.
BTW - since i've been doing BB rows and presses i've noticed the back of my shoulders, upper chest and neck are starting to thicken up. It's only been 1 or 2 work outs/week for the past month too.
I've always been bigger and stronger in my lower body, so i am working towards balancing my body.
-------------------- GO OUTSIDE.

that's awesome. you mean your rear delts? how does 400 swings go? i'd imagine that would be pretty brutal..? bb rows and presses feel to me like they are great for all delt areas (side, front, back) so power cleans, clean and jerks, rows etc should be awesome for your upper body area. and presses!!
please explain the 5,4,3,2,1 to me?? I have never used KB's before...

I'm pretty sure he means 5,4,3,2,1 clean plus press with the KB. I love KB work myself, pretty much some of the only stuff I do other than body weight exercises and yoga.
Lets keep that KB thread alive PDU, keep posting there brother; i'll make a conscious effort myself. I love that thread!

indica how is the sushi treating yah on your diet?? Do you eat a full roll and of what kind...do you make your own??
So its better to workout first before eating correct I hear this is the best way to get your body into fat burning mode if anything I eat a little yogurt or something before and then have an egg breakfast after my gym workout. I'm still trying to learn how to maximize my workout by eating properly.

im not too sure, i got told to avoid rice, pasta and breads. obviously there is rice in the sushi, i generally only have sushi on training days, PWO. (carb backloading perhaps?)
I have as much as i can handle, about 4 sushi rolls, with salmon, tuna, vegetable, prawn, avocado, as well as sashimi (tuna, salmon, perhaps 200g-300g??) it's a lot to eat, but i manage.
i just buy it form this nice little sushi bar just down the road from my gym, and I have a powerade as well (for piece of mind, perhaps. maybe it's loaded with sugar, but i like to think of it as replacing electrolytes, because it has electrolytes)

if i eat egg, i only have the whites (something i've only just started doing)

I"ll usually eat about 5 egg whites mixed with low fat shreeded cheese...thats a lot of protein right there next to zero carbs and maybe throw in some lean ham for even more protein...I started cutting out bread its hard as is alcohol. I only recently within the last 2 months or so started counting calories and getting really serious about my diet...its just as important as working out. Protein FTW
