Liquid Rehydration Idea
    #1465067 - 04/16/03 09:31 PM (14 years, 16 days ago)

Allright, you know how people rehydrate cakes or casings with water in a syringe? I know it works, a friend told me so. So my idea is to have liquid honey-water just pc'd with no mycilium and inject it into the center of cakes or casings. Using small amounts here and there. Now this would add hydration and nutrients to the cakes/casings. As long as it doesn't see the surface and work from the inside out, it shouldn't contam. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

yes this would work... but the abuse you would be giving the organism would negatively affect yield, more then the increase you would gain from more nutrients... if you dont have enough nutrients from the start of things your setting yourself up for failure/crapped out yields. and if your looking to give your pet a little extra nutrient boost, try a differnt substrate all together.

hope ive been some help

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

Recently my pet prarie dog had one last PF cake that needed to be moved,so he put it in a big plastic cup with a little damp perlite in the bottom, and it didnt really do much for about a week. Just for laughs he injected it with 12 cc of light malt extract solution. Produced one more huge fruit before he trashed the cake.He hasnt made any more PF cakes, but he told me hes going to try and rehydrate some grain thats colonized, but kind of dried out.Already been cased in the jar,(nowhere else to put another casing).Think its kind of prone to contams, but who knows? Might make some nice fruits.
