Howdie Folks,
This is just a little update to let everyone know about some new items and changes at Sporeworks.com.
We are very happy to announce the arrival of two new edible and medicinal mushroom cultures to our culture syringe lineup. We now have in stock 10cc culture syringes of Pleurotus tuberregium, the King Tuber Oyster Mushroom (sclerotia forming oyster), and Ganoderma lucidum, the Ling Chi or Reishi Mushroom.

As many of you know Reishi mushrooms are highly prized for their medicinal value and can command fairly high prices in dried form at local Co-Ops. Cultivation of this mushroom is relatively easy and is performed in much the same manner as Shiitake Mushrooms. Temperate fruiting temperatures allow the Reishi to be fruited under most normal room temperatures. Reishi will even produce well in CO2 restritive environments (producing a branching effect that is often sought after for its artistic appeal).
Also, we are also happy to announce a new addition to our Edible and Gourmet Mushroom Kit line: the Sclerotia Oyster Mushroom Grow Kit. These kits will include culture material of Pl. tuberregium as well as a number of bags (depending on kit size) of the Sclerotia Formula Myco Environment Bags(TM) now sold through MycoBag.com.
This is a great way to explore edible sclerotia production without investing in pricy sterilization gear or sterile culturing tools.

Now onto the changes at Sporeworks: The Myco Environment Bag(TM) line of products is no longer available as previously sold through Sporeworks. Myco Bag related products now have their own factory direct store at www.MycoBag.com. MycoBag.com will have an increasing selection of pre-sterilized and pre-filled substrate bags and continue to offer empty spawn bags both with and without the unique self-healing injection port.

As always we thank you for your continued patronage and support and welcome your feedback and suggestions.

DMC Maybe I missed it, but I did a Shroomery search and had little luck finding a descriptoin of Reishi cult technique.
Could you just give a general overview of the required technique plus some parameters.....example, can you use rye alone (would they fruit?), rye & spawn to dung, or are they woodlovers, usually cased, etc... ?
Are they considered difficult to grow?
Thanks

Woodlovers. I suggest plug spawn , but you can get spawn from sporeworks (honestly, though, sometimes their living supplies are marginal) or Fungi Perfecti (But i think Stamets is greedy, i prefer SW actually). Not hard, if you know what is up - I do em in between, uh, microscopy of cubensis.
