Hey Wisco,
I am happy to have our resident Gym-Expert in the house. ;0)
Yes, these are from a Stonesun print.
I would love to try an outdoor bed, but wonder if these will like Southern California.
Thank you very much for the numbers btw. I will be trying these.
I have two other Gym experiments going on too. I have one madbag that I cased with 50/50 in the bag, and another that I spread out in a tub and cased with the same soil.
If I get results I will post photos. If I don't you can be sure that the fail boat arrived. (I will try to at least report on how they fail, if they do)
I found Gyms to be a so-so colonizer....not all that strong, but they won the day, so I am happy.
Take care,
JD

LMAO!
Well, I am a spore whore too....
JAVADOG
P.S. I wanted to ask the community about cropping Gyms.
Some species deal well with fruit stumps (Shitake does) and for these one does not have to rupture the substrate when harvesting. Other species' stumps will rot and cause problems. These species need the twist-and-pull or some such method.
Where do Gyms live on this gradient?
P.P.S. You should see them this morning. I am going to wait until this evening to take the next photo, but this block is going to be EPIC. ;0)

As for the Gyms, IIRC they are very easily pull away from the substrate with a gentle twist. It won't damage your block.

We know better bro!
Thanks SS. I will be hoping for more flushes.
I was highly dubious of this grow, but it is turning our very cool.
I even wonder if I should have trayed and cased the other sacks, seeing how good the block is doing, but the idea here is to learn.
Take care,
JD

Shhhh! Damn!
I have nothing on SS. :0)
(as I wrote in the OP, the print comes from him!)
The sub was very wet. I knew this was part of why it colonized so slowly. No dunk necessary.
Let's see how the cased experiment do.
The stems are in the Nesco.
I am exhausted. We are making a release at work and I was there until midnight...
Take care all,
JD

Hello all,
I dried the first flush of Gyms.
29.1 grams, cracker dry:
Not a ton, but more than I need to try some tea.
I also have a tray and another bag that I cased with 50/50. I will post results there as well.
Take care,
JD
