the "rich" in america are not what most people think. i dont consider a family income of 250k a year that rich considering im from so cal where thats not exactly the most lavish lifestyle. property is worth so much down there and small business owners get taxed heavily cause the gov't sees them as "rich" so no taking money from the "rich" is not justified. i think we should take more from the bill gates type rich people cause it doesnt affect their livelihood at all. but it does from the poorer rich people for sure

I'd rather the rich keep their money than give it to Obummer. Obummer pissed away record amounts of tax money and increased the national debt to the point where it threatens to bankrupt the country. Taxing the rich in no way guarantees that people with less money will get any. What usually happens is that the money is wasted and stolen.

BINGO MOTHERFUCKERS!! the gov't is shitty at spending money and neither parties have much sense on how to "use" our tax dollars. we spent a trillion plus on a war that didnt exactly benefit our nation. and we just spent that much on a health care bill thats gonna force people with no health care to purchase some. bullshit!!!

Did you Google "self made billionaires" and pick the first link and copy and paste? None of these people started from the ground up. They all had opportunities that an average person will never have.

Have you seen anyone talking about these kind of people besides Zappa phred etc? They all bunch themselves in with rich people, when they are doing nothing but fooling themselves what rich actually is.

There is a good reason for that, you keep buying there products and services. If you do not want them to be rich then stop buying things from there companies, they will not threaten you with a gun like the government does when you stop giving them money. Not only do these "rich" corporations and individuals make the vast majority of government funded programs possible, without them almost none of the programs so many people have come to rely on, would even be possible. Ever heard the saying, "don't bite the hand that feeds you"? This is a perfect example.
*their products and services. Went to a public school, huh?
If the hand that feeds you tries to suffocate you, you wouldn't take a bite and look for another source of food? Obviously you have no instinct for self-preservation then.

Actually it isn't us who group ourselves in with "rich people". It's all the losers who think $250,000 to $1,000,000 in income is wealth beyond measure who are doing it. Though admittedly it will assuredly remain beyond their whiny grasp, that level of income is not really rich. The really rich that you supposedly wish to mine for your socialist gift giving will be able to adjust their behavior and investments or move out of country (see John "No Possessions" Lennon, the tax refugee who lived in one of the most exclusive Manhattan properties). Not only that but even if you taxed all of their income it wouldn't be enough for the bumocracy currently being pursued.

I agree, a million dollars isn't rich.
I personally have known few millionaries, maybe only met five or six, but they all seemed incredibly unhappy just as the poor.

I've known quite a few. None of them seemed incredibly unhappy and most or their complaints revolved around their children. On the other hand the unhappy poor people I have known seemed to measure their unhappiness around their inability to party as much as they felt they should, baby be fed or not.

Yeah, and those children you mention the millionaires worrying over might well be because of similar reasons, well, partying and debauchery and such. They worry their kids will fuck up, they have a lot more to lose.

I clearly laid out several negative consequences in my previous posts to you on this subject. Did you not read them? Why not look instead at countries with no minimum wage (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Germany, Lichtenstein, etc...)?

i took logic last semester and that for one is missing a huge premise bro. (the most famous american will be the next president) that was a good example of flawed logic but definitely not logic at all.

and btw textbooks are not always right man... they are written by people who often do not proofread the whole 500 pages or whatever it may be. im reading a book on growing cannabis currently and have found countless errors that the editors must have missed, and text books are no different they can be misinforming for sure.
