it would work, but it would be a waste of time. Why not just dip the tools in some kind of flammible alchol and then light them?

A soaking in isopropyl rubbing alcohol (any general store), for about 5 minutes will kill any and all organisms that are harmful to fungi. BUT make sure there is no more alcohol left on the tools...because it will kill the fungi. It might be a good idea to soak in alcohol for 1 minute and just light it..either way its gauranteed sterile, just make sure it not hot when it touches the mycelium. All i do is have some TP drenched in rubbing alcohol and wrap it compoletely around the tool and then dry it with another peaice of TP with a very small amount of alcohol..it evaporates very quickly so dont worry about a thin layer left on the tool.
