a cake stoped colinizing at around 80% because of being too dry, so instead of throwing it away, it got cased THink this will be successful???

Maybe. You should have cut of the uncolonized portion before you cased it. It all depends on whether contamination takes hold or not.

You could try shooting them up with some sterile water. Might work might not and it is probably pretty hard to guess the correct amount of water to add.

yes i cut of the bottom portion (the uncolinized part) off and threw it away, it was only like a cm before it was all colonized, the uncolinized portion was also very hard

Yes. Submerge them in water for 6 - 12 hours.
