what i've heard/read is that caught early it is a non-issue for most people, you should be fine!

like KBG said if removed in under 24 hours, infected ticks will not have enough time to infect.

they need a long period of time to find a spot, latch on, start withdrawing blood, regurgitate back into the host, back and forth like that for awhile.

absolutely disgusting. ticks are truly useless.

recover quickly!

No i was not sick at all... first symptom was the knee swelling.  And true they are very hardy and weather they actually die in the shower i also do not know for sure, just from experiance.. finding them after showering and they would be dead.  Maybe they died before that, maybe hot water and rubbing with soap kill them? who knows.

I find ticks on me everytime i go into the woods, I actually do not mind them... all things in nature are here for a reason, they are not useless but are quite disgusting.  Still blame the deer for the over population of ticks.  Where there are a lot of deer there will be a lot of ticks.  It requires them to complete its life cycle, hence deer tick (it is believed that the disease itself is contracted by the tick from the white footed mouse).  Since nothing but man hunts deer nowadays they are way too overpopulated.. here on the east anyway... Thin out the deer and there will be less ticks not to mention a better forest ecosystem all together.  And they taste delicious!

Yes deer ticks arent the only ticks around and they are not the only that can carry lyme but they are the most common and the hardest to see, which is why there are so many cases of lyme.
