Yeah they'll definitely get off easy, it said in the article it was medical marijuana. But either way, that guy broke into his garage. Definitely falls under the category of "unreasonable search and seizure"...
But they just lost almost $200k worth of bud that they won't be getting back.
Quit while you're ahead.

What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. The Commonwealth of Kentucky has very strict no tolerance laws against marijuana, they have no medical marijuana laws on the books either. You can easily get paraphernalia charges for the baggie your herb is in as well. Also you should check out the "tax" they have on mushrooms, if you get caught with them they can charge you a tax that is based on how much you have and what the "street value" is. Another fucked thing they have on the books is that if you have marijuana seeds, even if it is just what you took out of some schwag and dropped in an ashtray, they can charge you with intent to grow and traffic a controlled substance.
I live in Kentucky and they DO NOT charge you with intent to grow and Traffic if you have seeds....however they will charge u with marijuana possession for seeds or stems
And i know people who have been busted for growing shrooms and they had about a lb of dry musshies when the cops kicked the door in and he never got charged with some weird mushroom tax....they didn't like the DMT lab they found though lol
-------------------- 3 things your signature should have 1) A disclaimer about how everything you say is a work of ad-libbed fiction and should not be taken seriously 2) A quote from some famous psycho-naut like Tim Leary, or Alexander Shulgin. 3) A grand statement about the current state of the spirituality of mankind.

Kentucky Controlled Substances Excise Tax (drug tax), KRS 138.870-.990 I imagine they would not like that at all. I did not say they would, but could do so. I used to get smoke from a guy in Powell County who had a large bag of schwag and a little bag of seeds that he had removed from it over the course of the evening, on our way to the bar he was pulled over, the herb and seeds were found, and he was charged with possession, paraphernalia, and intent to cultivate and traffic. He beat the charge eventually, but it cost him quite a bit. I would guess that this dose not happen to often, the intent charges, or the tax, but it does happen and the laws are on the books.
