Um... I don't know... Use the hot tap? Or boil the fucking kettle? We do have hot water in England. Are you seriously retarded? I'm stopping now else I'll get a ban.
I don't get what you're tripping on here.
Do you really think the 2 tap system is superior? That's the only reason I can see for your insistence on arguing this
I'm saying it's hardly a confusing system, and you're acting like cavemen with a tv remote.

It's confusing when you live your entire life dealing only with single taps.. Only to run into a way less efficient system that you've never seen before.
And you're acting like you're the only intelligent person in the world for "understanding" dual taps.
How do you wash your hands without either burning yourself or not attaining a good enough temperature to properly clean your hands?

Some of the ones in my house have one, some have two.
I don't think it has much to do with the country.

wouldn't you just only use the hot water? I mean when you turn on the hot water is it instantly boiling hot?
When I was my hands I never even turn the cold water on...it doesn't take long to clean your hands...

The cold tap is fine. It needs a bit to get properly cold because the building warms the pipes up. Or just use the hot tap up until it gets too hot.

That's not even possible unless your taps are coming out of your water heater.

This is what I do in my house usually. Most of the time it is a race to get my hands clean before the water gets too hot. Sometimes I fail and have to turn on some cold water to even it out.

1 handle 1 faucet, now that is doing it right.

And yet I despise these, they always fail eventually as calcium builds up.
An interesting point, to really sanitize your hands you want them run under as hot of water as you can stand for at least 20 seconds. If you filla basin with water you lose quite a bit of sterility, and the 2-tap design makes properly washing your hands effectively impossible.
I would have thought washing your hands under cold water would be the best way to wash hands, but

I expected this from Australia but not Britain.
We have them here too. I have always thought it was retarded. It only seems to be in older style houses, shitty rental places and maybe even some public toilets? Maybe it's a cheaper setup? It's definitely not just in houses that were built pre hot water systems, unless hot water systems only came in in the last 30 years or less?
-------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Until the 20th century, reality was everything humans could touch, smell, see, and hear. Since the initial publication of the charged electromagnetic spectrum, humans learned that what they can touch, smell, see, and hear... is less than one millionth of reality. --------------------------------

Well if people still buy them, why change the production line.
It's probably people not wanting to update a rental and not giving a fuck and people that like the nostalgia. there is always a market for people that like old crap.

Some things do call for warm as opposed to hot.
And I'm pretty sure that you missed a few points in my post.

Warm water into a vessel from two taps. 50% hot, 50% cold.
Maybe I missed your previous post but from this one, I figured out the equation.

I believe my point was that unless you clean your sink before preparing water that's going into something you consume, shit's nasty.
Factor in that variable.

exactly. I turn on the hot, get my hands wet, get some soap, soap'em up, and by the time I rinse off the water is usually nice and hot
lol it's totally a race to beat water before it gets too hot!!
mongo lloyd I didn't literally mean does it come out BOILING hot. Haha I was agree with you and what I meant was since the water isn't ultra hot from the get go, you can wash your hands JUST using the hot.
Since, you know, hand washing is serious business.
