I'm just grateful we have a regular faucet in the kitchen. Otherwise washing dishes would be utterly

When I was an elementary school student, I had a sleepover at a friend's house that had 2 taps. I couldn't see the top of the second tap and figured it must be soap. (Didn't see any other soap on the counter, so...) Needless to say, I got horribly burned.
That is the ONLY two-tap system I've EVER seen in the U.S.
BTW, what happens if you want warm water from a two-tap system? This system seems archaic.

My guess is it's just old plumbing and they're too lazy to fix the since to put a single spout on the thing. Regardless, that's fucking retarded.

The best that I could come up with is that it is archaic. The first water to be piped into a house was cold. Later on when hot water was invented they just added another faucet to the sink.
Just a relic of the past that apparently has not gone away. I guess there are some old parts of the U.S. that still have those sinks also.
An abomination I say!

It's easy to get a decent temperature. All you need to do is run them at the same time, with one faster than the other It's a simple system that only a mongoloid wouldn't be able to comprehend.

That's what I'd do. People would come in and see my sink and be like "WTF IS THIS?" and I'd be all like "INNOVATION, MOTHERFUCKER!"

I didn't even know such a thing existed!
How the fuck could it possibly be better! With 2 valves on a single tap, you use less material- and the fundamental design is the same. The only difference is that it conveniently joins to water for you.

1 handle 1 faucet, now that is doing it right.
And yet I despise these, they always fail eventually as calcium builds up.
An interesting point, to really sanitize your hands you want them run under as hot of water as you can stand for at least 20 seconds. If you filla basin with water you lose quite a bit of sterility, and the 2-tap design makes properly washing your hands effectively impossible.

If you want warm water you put the plug in the sink and mix it yourself.
The appearance of two taps is aesthetically pleasing. Keeping those water lines separate and pure, right to the end of the line.
It means you get to have twice the amount of metal - shiny stuff is great. You can also see the beauty of two columns of water flowing in parallel, falling to the ceramic basin.
Scalding hot on the left and cool on the right. = The Hot/Cold Tap Convention

That's just stupid. You have to deal with other people's butt germs that stuck to the basin of the sink.

Many showers in Greece don't have a tub or a shower curtain. It's just a shower head in the corner of the bathroom, so after washing yourself the whole floor is wet. There's just one drain, and occasionally it's in the center of the bathroom. I think this is why they are really protesting in Greece.
