i've heard that if u keep shrooms in the freezer, it helps slow the degradation of the psilocybin. any agree or disagree?

If your shrooms are cracker dry and put inside an air tight container (like a mason jar) and stored in a reasonably cool place they should retain their potency indefinitely. Psilocybin is a pretty stable chemcial.
Freezing certainly couldn't hurt, but it's not really necessary.

I think in theory it should work as long as freezing doesn't damage psilocybin.
i also think the guy above is correct about freezing not being necessary.
I ate some two year old mushrooms i had in an airtight jar but not frozen and they did not seem to have lost much, if any potency. they did take almost an hour to take effect though.
anyone know if this had to do with their age or maybe it was just because i had food in my stomach or something.

I believe you can't really freeze anything that doesn't have moisture in it, thus the DRIED mushrooms?

Huh?
Its still going to change temperature. They're using 'freeze' as in 'put in the freezer', not the physical change of state from liquid to solid

it was most definitely because u had food in your stomach. i once thought i wasted a dose by eating them with a meal. then 4 hours later i started to laugh and laugh, i wanted it to be ending at that time, not starting.
ok thanks everyone, have them in a jar, i'll keep them with my canned goods.

Well, duh. I just meant you can't/shouldn't freeze them, AS THE TITLE SAYS, cause they shouldn't have any moisture. Plus, you would end up ruining them into a soggy mess as they thaw.

No, they wouldn't, because they're already dry.

just be sure that they are CRACKER DRY before you put them in the jar, and try not to open up too often because they will reabsorb moisture from the air.
Even if they are just a little bendy it means there is just a tiny bit of moisture in them, and over time they will get all musty and gross. Probably won't affect the potency, but shrooms taste gross enough as it is...
if they are not cracker dry just get some damprid and you can dry them in like a day.
