Near Death Experience revisited
    #14611044 - 06/14/11 09:40 AM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Not gonna rehash the old tunnel and white light scenario. Let's look at this from another angle.

Once, I accidentally almost drove off a cliff on a dirt bike in unfamiliar terrain, but I stopped two foot short. Would have been killed for sure. How does my experience qualify me to tell what it is like to actually drive off an 80 foot cliff?

Cause you intuitively felt your death on your left and it whispered what almost happened into your ear. Death gave you a warning. "I am here watching, but I have not touched you yet" :pope:

There are other authors besides Castaneda.

That's not very near death.

2 feet is nothing.  If you would have been 2mm away from the edge, you'd be more qualified.

At 40MPH on sand it was almost enough to give me a heart attack. But what if the front wheel hung over the edge, would that qualify me to tell people what life is like after death?

It does give you a sort of mental barometer into your own bullshit, but as far as telling you about death, there's only one punchline to that joke, and I haven't heard it yet.

Only if you pass out and have a dream you can't prove actually happened for real. Them's the rules.

How about, pay more attention to your heart, blood pressure etc, so it would not fail upon you... You know that was 2xNDE...lol

How about the time you almost drove into that crane thing on the highway that would have smashed your pumpkin?  At least with the cliff you might have had a prayer had the landing been on the wheels.  Bounced 30 ft up then that fall might have killed you.

Who knows?  Every moment we are near death.  Ask Icelander he knows.
