Drug chemical found in tests of dead soldier, wife
OLYMPIA, Wash. —
The Thurston County coroner says toxicology tests on a Washington state man who shot and killed his wife and himself during a police chase in April show both had a chemical in their systems that's associated with a potent designer drug.
Coroner Gary Warnock said Monday that both Army Sgt. David Stewart and Kristy Sampels had the chemical MDPV in their bodies when they died April 5. The chemical is associated with so-called "bath salts," a product that the Washington Poison Center says has a chemical composition similar to methamphetamine. The Washington Board of Pharmacy issued an emergency 120-day ban on the substance shortly after the deaths.
Stewart was a combat medic who had twice deployed to Iraq.
The couple's 5-year-old son, Jordan Stewart, was found asphyxiated with a plastic bag at their home in Spanaway, Wash. Investigators have said they believe one of the parents killed the boy but they aren't certain which one.

Reminds me of the 60's. There's going to be a backlash, a bad one. If we don't get this bath salt crap under control, we will lose all the progress we've made with MJ.

I don't think anyone in their right mind associates bath salts with marijuana. Completely different drugs, different effects, different users, different legal statuses...

Bet it was the dad that did it. Bath salts maybe a lil part of it, But shooting people in War messes with your head- Especially when your looking through a scope- The Bathsalts probably aggravated the PST. Sad either way- He(She) shouldnt have did that to their child.
And in the 60's they linked every drug together-

Thank you. Acid, heroin, mj, pills, cocaine, all became one big bad thing in the 60's, and the country reacted to what was perceived as a serious threat.

Drugs really were a danger. Naive kids went off to the cities, especially to Cali, thinking it would be free love and free bread. They found dealers and pimps, addiction, overdoses, impurities, and death. These stories were sensationalized, but were real.
Then there's the "research chem" part of the 60's, with STP and other weird shit that nobody has seen since because it sucked.

Oh, I forgot this is the 60s. Sorry, guys.
We don't have medical research indicating the harmlessness of marijuana, the Internet with which to spread that information quicker than before, or anything else different from 50 years ago.

STP just a slang term given to DOM. I think it's a lovely drug and it is still kicking around.
From Pihkal
"No visual experience has ever been like this. The meaning of color has just changed completely, there are pulsations, and pastels are extremely pastel. And now the oranges are coming into play. It is a beautiful experience. Of all past joys, LSD, mescaline, cannabis, peyote, this ranks number one. Normally I have no color effects with mescaline. A dynamic experience. Feels good, too."
