Actually, wash the cake before and after the dunk, but not after the roll.  Doing so would wash the fresh layer of verm off, which serves as a 'casing layer' of sorts.

It's normal for the mycelium during colonization to sometimes grow up and into the verm layer on top.  Wash it all off, mycelium and all.

By no I meant you didn't harm them, you just want to gently rub the top layer of verm off not try to dig it out,so whatever comes loose during your gently rubbing is fine.

The second part of your post is confusing, what do you mean inside? you brike the cake apart?pics would clear all your questions up so we could see what your talking about

i already threw it out. i broke the cake half and the inside was full of like spiderweb but it was all black and my hands were like covered with black spores. so i put it in a plastic bag and threw it out and took a shower.

i have not seen any mold in there(all cakes were separated when they colonized)i think i just mixed verm/brf/water badly.
should i take them out and attach these colonized parts to each other? with verm between them
