Accept it, join the club and mellow out. The only way out is in.

what does accepting a character flaw actually mean?

i don't like it...but i'm just supposed to say "ok...that's me"?

pretty much....you cant help it. Too many people are given grief about being self loathing pretentious pricks when really they should be taught to accept it.

You could go into denial, but that would be one more thing to hate about yourself.

part of me wants to think that i can help it....and your line of thinking is denying responsibility to one's self

its only a flaw if other people (you love and respect) tell you it is.
your only flaw here is a lack of self confidence.
if you dont love yourself how can you expect others to love you?

Im guessing if you werent such a pretentious prick you wouldnt loathe yourself so much. Thenagain if you accept that you are a pretentious prick and will always be a pretentious prick you dont have to loathe yourself either but you can take joy in making others miserable.
This grief is caused by feeling guilty about being a pretentious prick more than it is about actually being a pretentious prick.

Somewhere deep inside you is a voice telling you that how you are behaving is somehow wrong. You can either listen to that voice or kill it with fire. the choice is yours. Both solutions will lead you to feel less self loathing in the end. one through fulfillment of your values the other through destroying the values altogether.

Some find it easy to control their thoughts...for the rest of us we can just change our values.

i went through some of that guilt too for a while until i really decided people are useless and idiots.  helped me overcome my guilt.

for me it's the anger.  just being a prick is easy but when one wants to bitch slap the idiot and cant due to out litigious society that becomes an issue.  i mean just two hands slapped over some dumb cunts ears could kill him too.  whats the sound of two hands slapping?  agonizing fucking death?  wailing?  hmmm.

well get some skin bitch quit yer crying is what i think.  or become a PC pussified man like most of the cunts out there.
