Definitely not subs, and subs don't grow in cow poo, if you had done any research you would know that by now. I can't ID what you found but it's miles away from a psilocybe sp. If you gave us more info about location and habitat maybe we could steer you in the right direction, but if your not looking in the right areas you will never find them.

http://www.shroomery.org/9578/Psilocybe-subaeruginosa is a good start i suppose, they don't have a relationship with pine trees specifically either, but they do have a relationship with rotting tree debris which is why they are commonly found at the bottom trees and in gardens etc. keep looking and once you actually find some you will have a much better idea of where to find them.

psilocybe subaeruginosa are very common, and while some will disagree, you have a much better chance of finding them around eucalypts and bracken fern.  they love wood chips, or any other type our wood waste, and love growing amongst grass in these spots.

my challenge this year is to try and get photos of them in pine forests because i still dont quite believe it, even though i have seen them growing in euc leaves and pine needles mixed together

once you id what type of locales they like you'll find them everywhere.  along the side of roads, playgrounds, even near beaches, as long as there is good substrate fro them to grow on.

its not kosher to give locales, but if your in hobart head up the mountains and look around.  even search this site for info on where to go if you want.

but by this time of year they will have flushed quite a few times, and will be slowing down a bit, expect perhaps a month before the end of season. and from rumours i hear most sites around mt wellington have been pretty well picked over, i dread to think of the damage done, so you may be out of luck.

and by the looks of that photo, you need to become a little for familiar with their characteristics.

Hope you manage to get some good photos of this species, they are very beautiful, especially when still golden.

Cheers, Obtuse.
