goin bannas (new thing?)

so recently i have been using bananas as a bulk substrate...and trying to keep things simple i would just dump a fistful of coir , a cup of moistened verm (field capacity) one whole ripe banana and half a cup of BRF into a gallon freezer bag...and just mix and mash and roll the bang until i had a neat lookin bannana pudding looking stuff inside, then just dump a little half pint colonized jar into the bag (my sterility is extremely lax due to lack of equipment)...But the little bags are colonizing like mad, its really amazing to me. My main question is, do bannanas have any kind of extra beneficial nutrients that mushrooms like? I was thinking maybe the explosion of soft tissue and potassium might have been like mushroom steroids but i wanted to ask the community what yall thought. Also if this kinda method would work with any other kinds of fruit or vegatable like eggplant or something;

Nope, but lots of stuff bacteria rot loves. I'd give ten hundred to one odds you're not growing mushroom mycelium. RR

I bet that any white growing myc on bananas or strawberry's will change the color within a few days. every fruit is covered with molds so i really hate it when my GF is buying some and bring them into the kitchen. Pineapple strawberry's oranges and lemons are scaring me every time i see them. I dont like to eat them but if they are already in my apt. i eat them to get rid of them.
BTW there are some good teks to grow shrooms so why do you try to invent the wheel new?

dont think that is the right mycelium you got growin there, couple of years ago i blended up a whole heap of bananas and mixed with powdered mushrooms (like shitty garden ones) to see if it colonized.... had the same reaction but was soooooooo off the mark...
