if you used a dictionary, you can easily find out that coir is : a stiff coarse fiber from the outer husk of a coconut .

If you make the 60/40 Verm and Coco Coir casing...you can make a alot of casings from 1 brick. If you gave me the size of the containers you are going to use to case...I could give you a better estimate.

My friend is going to case in 7.5x7.5 in containers. He is going to use the 60/40.
The reason I asked whether it was fibre is because i read somewhere (possibly in the FAQ) that you weren't supposed to use the fibre stuff (implying that the coir and fibre were different stuff even though both fibrous). The person at the pet store that he was talking to kept saying "fibre."

You want the stuff that comes in a brick.
You don't want the bark...that comes in a larger bag.
Just go to a pet store and look for the brick. Your making this more difficult than it really is.

well, the picture tells the story . obviously if you had long fibers like in the pic you would need to grind it . even though it says fiber on the package, Eco-Earth works fine .

One brick should make enough casing layers for your 7.5x7.5 containers for at least 30 to 35 casings if you make it the 60/40 Verm and Coco Coir. It goes a long way.
