I heard the gold prefers PDA and regardless, it should take off on rye.

Can I ask how long it took to sterilise all those jars? Thats pretty awesome. I've only been doing this for a year but still I feel like a beginner. My wife and I are buying a house with an unfinished basement. She gets her dance studio and I get my grow room! Then it is full on. I'm working on some kings right now, just sterilized 25 jars of grain and it took all day. I will definitely be keeping my eye on this thread, Thanks!
Also if you have time, what might your opinion of using frp on the inside walls be. Do you think it would be overkill?

Good to know, I've always used YMA. The Golden Oyster is looking good on the rye. I only put one drop of LC on the plates so there might not have been enough viable material. The plates are still clean so I'm going place a rye berry on each and see it takes off.
Pentashroom, I've got the jar routine pretty dialed in, it takes me around 2 hours to make 20 jars, I save 20 minutes by cooking at 20 psi. I would say 20-30 minutes working time and then a bit of time checking the pressure cookers every 5-10 minutes.
I've got two AA921's that hold 10 jars each. I can do two cycles a day if I want to and make 40 jars per day. I usually stick to making one batch a day, I'm more into the perpetual harvest idea rather than having huge bunches at once.
I soak the grain overnight (~12 hours) in a 5 gallon bucket. I use 25 cups of rye to make 20 jars for agar transfer, less grain for g2g. I boil the grain for 10 minutes in two stock pots. The grain is drained and placed into 4 plastic containers. The containers get shaken every few minutes until they stop steaming. I use a 1L dish and a canning funnel to fill the jars, much quicker than spooning it in.
I think using fibre-reinforced panels is a good idea. The only drawback would be cost, do you have a cheap source?

Still searching for a good deal on the frp. The local lumber yard wants $50 a sheet, Home depot is around $30. I figured I only need 8 sheets if I leave the concrete walls alone, 17 if I cover. I'm lookin at $100-$200 for the walls. Then I have lighting and FAE and humidity, all which in time I would like to have fully automated. I think to start I will do some temp 6mil plastic till I can put all this together.
Having 2 PCs is the way to go, I have 1 right now. But will definitely be upgrading when I get the chance. I boil grains for 20 min let the steam out by spreading them out on a clean towel or two. then just hand fill the jars and PC @ 15lbs for 90min. I can fit 9 jars in my PC, 2 lay on top.
Man like I said I feel like a beginner, but I think it is the lack of space is keeping me from expanding. I'll definitely be posting more when I get my operation going.
Thanks for your input.

All 7 types are now on straw. Each 3 foot x 10" log was inoculated with 6 quarts of rye.
Four days in and the Blue Oyster is kicking serious ass. The Phoenix is second followed by Grey.
Although though the King, Pink and Golden were inoculated just one day after the first batch they are much further behind in growth.

I have grown the Pearl Oyster before and wasn't super impressed with its performance. I made up a small log with 3 quarts of rye to compare to my previous grow. As you can see, 4 days in and not much growth.

The jars are looking good. Hopefully I'll have another 10 logs made this week.
Jar Count: 140 and climbing

Best of luck on all these, GroboClone. I'm growing golden right now - my first grow ever. So, I'm routing for your Goldens to turn out spectacular, even though they like to hang back in last place for most of the race.
I'm also cheering on your kings--I ordered king and lions mane spores from Ralphsters last week.

After only 9 days the Blue Oyster has colonized the log. If it fruits well I think I'll have a keeper.
The Phoenix is in a 3 way tie for 2nd with King and Pink.
Grey has fallen back and brings up the rear with Golden.
I didn't take a picture of the Pearl but it is somewhere between the Phoenix and Grey.

I made 9 logs this week bringing the total to 15. The goal next week is to clean up the fruiting room and overhaul the air handling system to prepare for the new logs.

Beautiful, GroboClone! Wondering how you managed to prepare all those grain jars. Do you use a few PCs at once?

So the Pink Oyster had enough of sitting around and decided it was time to fruit. Looks like I'll have to get the Fruiting room sorted ASAP.

To answer your question Terry, I don't have any difficulty making enough jars. I've got two AA921's and can make 20 jars a day. My pasteurizer can hold enough straw for 3 logs a day. If I use 6 jars to inoculate each log, one batch of jars is enough for one batch of straw with 2 jars left over for g2g masters for the next batch.

Interesting that 6 jars are enough for each log. I was planning similar sized oyster logs, but using many more jars per log (a 30% spawn ratio). Your spawn ratio is 12%, and that's what I'm going to use now instead of my original plan. I just did G2G for this, and now I'll be able to generate twice as many logs!

Grobo... whats your incubation RH?

Before the blue huh... 11 days? nice!
I <3 the salmon color... the mature pinks remind me of phalonopsis orchids. Chefs can cheat that pink color into sticking around with a pinch of beet powder.

How much dry straw are you loading b4 soak?
