Is it usual for those who become one with the universe and come to find themselves as an illusion, to die an early death?
"only the good die young" ?

No, my guru is 40,000 years old.

Perhaps. It's comforting to realize that death is not the end. I think early death after such a realization is the result of becoming complacent, not the result of maintaining "enlightenment".

I think many would consider that to be "death anxiety." In my opinion many people feel comforted by the thought, which is why religion has stuck around so strongly; people are easily manipulated when it comes to the unknown.
