Pan. Subbalteatus/Cintilus, or what?
    #14604678 - 06/13/11 05:39 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Habitat:
Horse Manure

Gills:
Greyish

Stem:
Reddish brown more white towards the cap - fibers that seem to twist when seperated

Cap:
1-2cm LBM - Honestly it didn't scream subbalteatus to me, I didn't pay much attention until I noticed the gills and stem.  They don't look like most of the pictures of this species, but it seems to come in so many forms  This is the thing that makes me question them most though...

Spore print color:
Black! I looked at a quick, light print under my shitty 30x scope and I could see little spores or clusters of spores maybe, very cool, wish I had higher magnification, all I see is black dots

Bruising:
None :frown:

Other information:

Would anyone be so kind as to confirm my suspiscions, or guide me in the right direction as to the correct ID?

Thanks you Alan!  That name was kinda bouncing its way around my head lately but I didn't really make the connection for some reason.

Getting closer? [Re: moonrockmushy]
    #14604883 - 06/13/11 07:43 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

How about these.  I want to say that the print is black, but I cannot say for sure at this point... possibly foenisecci?

& a few more papilionaceus, I cannot walk through a field without kicking a few of these right now...

Stem stripe, and gills are pointing towards foenisecci. But the print will tell for sure.
The stems should be twisted, and the gills should be grey/black with little sploch's

Be sure the print is jet black, and no brown.

Print is brown, I am calling it a foenisecci unless someone would object.

Thanks Locky!

Haven't checked the sporeprint yet, but I have a good feeling about these ones.  Would others agree?

Probably panaeolina foenisecii. Check the spore color to be sure though.
