The Book of Mormon
    #14603170 - 06/12/11 09:14 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Just won a bunch of tony's. I saw it on Broadway Friday and let me tell you it is an achievement of hilarity. The funniest musical I have ever seen! It is truly Trey Parker and Matt Stone at their best. You think South Park is funny? This is absolutely hilarious!!! The South Park writers do not let you down! Seriously when this goes on tour and comes to your town, SEE IT!!! It will have you laughing your ass off. Absolutely fucking amazing!

It looks like they're starting to fade away from South Park and focusing more and more on this play, instead.  Truth be told on the final episode of South Park this first half season.

"Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of the controversial 1891 German play of the same title by Frank Wedekind. It features music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater. Set in late-19th century Germany, it concerns teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. The original play was banned in Germany for a while due to its portrayal of abortion, homosexuality, rape, child abuse and suicide. In the musical, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score. Spring Awakening received eleven 2007 Tony Award nominations, winning eight, including Tonys for best musical, direction, book, score and featured actor. The show also won four Drama Desk Awards, while its London production won four Olivier Awards." Amazing coreagraphy and the stage setup and thems struck me as psychedelic.

Telling you man, if you like musicals, this is the one to see. Not as funny as book of mormon but the themes are outstanding.
