Serious Holistic 'Intent' Thread

For the purpose of this thread let us leave out setting and dosage and focus strictly upon intent.
I honestly don't know what intent means when it comes to tripping. Please explain to this simple mind in clear, easy-to-undertand terms.

To me it's about mood or confidence. If I go in overly scared and anxious that is often but not always an influence on my tripping experience. And vice versa.
Like the saying " he got up on the wrong side of the bed" He started his day in a bad mood and it carried into some of the rest of the day.
This is basic to everyday life so why not when tripping?
Intent is a factor in our lives but not always the overriding factor.

To me, mood is your current physical/emotional state, and of course, will affect a trip. I see intent as very different, a purposely directed goal of some sort.

Maybe. I try and intend to be in a good mood.
Lets say I plan to trip on a certain day. I wake up in a bad mood, anxious and worried. I will set myself to improve that mood so when it comes time to trip I'll be in a better space. I'll talk to myself and intend a better mood. It often works. It's not a big deal however.

I think if I intend to lucid dream it makes me much more likely to have one. You could dis/prove this if you had a study involving multiple people dreamng with one group not intending but it hasn't been done. Your other study is certainly irrelevant.

Such an experience is an exception to the general rule, though.

I'd be curious to know how big a dose you took.

Against what, your personal experience?
Also I don't see what I even put out in my OP that could be debated except the last part and you weren't referring to that.

That's your problem. I never had a lucid dream until I intended them. Only after I made it my intent to have one by using methods of concentration and intending to have one, I did, and then several more in quick succession.

That's why we can't debate you on this issue.

How could intent not be tied to a particular physical state of the brain? We dont believe in the ethereal soul around here, thus intent is a function of brain configuration.

Same here, I didn't use any of the techniques just intent and I had a few lucid dreams over the course of a week never having had them before.

Or so you thought. I knew better. You did too much anyway. Then to run that far and get all scared and hide in the bushes then get all paranoid and start knocking on doors. Did you think they would invite you in for coffee? Hell no they called the cops. What were you thinking?
Anyway keep things light stick with mother nature and you will be fine. Enough will all your toxins. This includes your Doritoes! I am not joking there is no spirituality in Nacho Cheese.
