Why is this sucker so blue?

Ok so, we birthed this cake 4 days ago that is about 8 inches long by 4 inches wide by 3 inches tall.
We stuck it in the SGFC along with 4 inches or so of perlite. We haven't been misting this cake, which is why we thought it was bluing at first - drying out right? But after a very light mist and fan it looks like it is more blue than ever. it's looked like this since yesterday morning.
at first we had extreme paranoia that it was the dreaded trich. but a closer examination reveals more of a blue than green coloring. idk, what do you guys think> should i be misting this guy or is it another issue?

looks like bruising from dehydration to me. What did you use as a substrate for that cake? If its just grains it might not be holding enough water on its own...

its a 50/50 mix of wbs spawn and hpoo/verm/gypsum/coffee
think i should drench it? the cake is not at all dense. you know how solid a pf cake is? well, it is no where near that dense. maybe porous is the right word.

Did it feel heavy? it could be blueing due to low humidity, make sure the cake feels heavy and check your humidity.you really should be misting a few times a day atleast.Check your perlite and see how moist/dry it is

the entire cake weighs only a pound maybe, despite it's volume. dont get me wrong though, it is very well colonized. the sub was really fluffy is all. regardless, when we birthed it, there was like an 1/8 inch of standing water in the top of the container it was colonizing in.

It's bruised, but if you don't get busy misting a few times daily, it's going to be green soon from trich on those exposed grains. Why on earth haven't you been misting from day one like you're supposed to? RR

Did ya even dunk it. If not mist the hell out of it and make sure to fan once in a while too.
