Can you drink good beer from the bottle?

Went to the best place in town for heady brews and did a pick 6 which came out around 22 dollars and I want to know if the beer will not be appreciated properly out of the bottle. I do this every few months and never have any glasses to pour them in so I just drink them from the bottle, but do I need a glass, or does a bottle suffice? If People tell me to pour it, would a regular glass work?

I drink good beer from the bottle..it loses some carbonation if you pour it into a glass.
Guinness FTW.

The only extra appreciation you would get would be from looking at the colour of it in a clear glass as you drink it.
But as Poid said, you will lose a bit of carbonation.

I always see the nerds that review beer act as though the glass makes the beer or something. I mean, I understand the concept, but a good beer should still be good right? I've never really enjoyed drinking anything out of glasses....

It's the way it pours out of the glass that makes the drinking better, I don't think the glass actually affects the taste.
When you have beer on tap, certain glasses make for better drinking..beer bottles are already designed in such a way that the drinking is optimal, so there's no real need to pour it in a glass.

I think you get more flavor from a glass because you get scent and taste. The bottle keeps the scent in, scent is a bigger part of taste than we usually think.
I never drink out of the bottle.

I agree for the most part but still something about a tap that taste different from a beer in a bottle don't get me wrong sometimes a tap at a bar can be flat but when its on point i think its better than the bottle most of the time.

Hmm, I don't really notice a difference in flavor when I drink, say, Fat Tire out of a bottle than when I drink it on tap out of a specialized beer glass.

It's not wine, dude, people don't generally drink beer for the aroma. They drink it for the taste, and the buzz.
if you pay $22 for 6 bottles, you're not drinking it for the buzz.
aroma enhances flavor. it constitutes much of what we consider the sense of 'taste.'
Some beers, such as Hefeweizen, need to be poured-out in order to mix the yeast back in after it has settled on the bottom of the bottle.
You don't get head (haw haw) without a glass. Decent beer probably wasn't brewed for 'maximum carbonation,' straight from the bottle to your mouf. It was brewed to lose some of that carbonation to the head.
...and it's not just about aroma; it's also a matter of how the liquid is deposited in your mouth. I couldn't imagine drinking Chimay from the bottle, for example (not that I have it all that often). That flavor is supposed to loll all over your palate.
That all said, do whatever you please. People who "over appreciate" things (fucking foodies...) piss me off a lot more than people who don't give a damn.
Right now I'm drinking Anchor Steam Liberty Ale, which I *love* -- so intricate.
I'm drinking it from the bottle.
$8 for a sixer (on sale).

Craft beers with high alcohol content 10% + are usually recommended to be poured in a glass...miller light poured in a glass for example isnt going to taste much better than from the bottle.

Is it nitrogen? Or are you distinguishing between carbon dioxide produced by yeast and that which is added artificially?

taste is mostly smell, smelling something deeply helps you get the flavor better
on that note, I've been known to drink some pretty good wines right from the bottle
in my opinion, the bottle is the suggested serving size and container, and that's why they pack it like that
but, he will miss out on the smell, and if he wants the full experience of getting the nuances of a mix pack of nice beer, then pouring it in a glass would help

Yea, I like it too. It has nitrogen dissolved in it for bubbles, not carbon diaoxide - so though it is bubbly (kind of) its not technically carbonated. Its nitrogenated.
