Do you know the definition of theocracy?  It is about as far from Saddam Hussein's govt. as an ideology could be.

It sounds to me like you don't know very much at all about the Iraq War.

Funny how he stops responding when asked to provide sources for his

Didn't read the thread but we had the lend lease act with britain. Kinda the same principle. We should have never been there in the first place though. If things are legitimetly better(not sure if they are) why not get a return on our investment in the iraqi people.

Because of the simple fact of the loss of life there mainly civilian.
How do you kill 60,000 civilians and then turn around and ask for money
because of "the good job we have done."

And the fact that they did not even ask for our assistance whatsoever and they
still want us out. This is never going to happen but the shear audacity of one
of our Congressional to even suggest such a thing is one of the most unsettling
things I have heard this year.

U.S. commanders in Iraq ignored evidence of torture and often failed to investigate the killing of civilians. These are the major findings from the leak of 400,000 secret American military files from the whistleblowing website, WikiLeaks. The data describes widespread brutal torture of detainees by Iraqi troops - with some documents showing American authorities often turned a blind eye. The files also reveal that 66,000 civilians were killed in Iraq since the U.S. invaded - even though Washington had denied it kept any such record. The Pentagon's condemned what is the largest-ever leak of classified documents - saying it will only serve to help America's enemies.......

Plenty of Iraqis didn't want US intervention. Sure Saddam was a murderous totalitarian dictator who killed his own people but US airstrikes and assaults have killed civilians as well. Who do you think US troops are fighting right no in Iraq? Do you think Saddam's men  are planting IEDs trying to kill US convoys? No. They are local insurgents who want the US to leave.

The Iraqi people did not unanimously ask for the US to iinvade their nation and kill their dictator. In addition all the cost of the Iraq war is over 700 billion dollars. It would be immpossible for Iraq to pay that much money.

The situation is as if you had squirrels in your backyard that you wanted to get rid of, then without permission your neighbor kills all the squirrels and demands three million dollars compensation.

BAGHDAD -- A U.S. congressman visiting Baghdad Friday suggested that Iraq pay back the United States for the money it has spent in the eight years since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher spoke during a one-day visit by a group of six U.S. congressman. The California Republican said he raised the suggestion during a meeting with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki that some day when Iraq is a "prosperous" nation it pay back the U.S. for everything that it has done here.

"We would hope that some consideration be given to repaying the United States some of the megadollars we have spent here in the last eight years," Rohrabacher told reporters at the U.S. Embassy after the meeting.
