You need to learn a bit of chemistry, don't worry though, it's very basic info.
Find out if glycerin is polar or non-polar. If it is polar it will extract polar molecules, if it's non-polar it will extract non-polar molecules.
You need to find out if the chemical you are attempting to extract is polar or non-polar.

tinctures are super easy to make. Just cook loads of pot in vegetable glycerin in a crock pot on low heat, simmer that for 12 hours. Time is variable but that is what I do anyway.
You can add just about anything to your mixture while it is cooking, just make sure that you strain it out alongside all of the bud or trim or whatever your using. You could use vanilla, stuff like that. I never like to add flavors though, its tastes sooooo dank with glycerin and bud. The glycerin itself tastes almost like sweet sugar, so it makes it taste like cannacandy why fuck that up!?

How much vegetable glycerin would you use? For an ounce of trim or whatever.

I don't like cannacandies, but I just don't like sweet foods in general.

Last time I made some I used 50grams with 18 ounces of glycerin. I would say 10-12 ounces per 30grams.

Hmmm, well it is very sweet.... Idk you would have to do a little experimenting, but I am sure you could find some flavorful additives that would cut down on the sweet taste.

you could always mix the glycerine tincture in a drink, that way it doesn't taste too sweet. but shake it up at 1st, otherwise the glycerine will sink to the bottom. i think the taste is fantastic, one of my favorite tastes, with straight glycerine though. but you can add any tasty herb too it. I think if you add maybe 25% water 75% glycerine you will get more herbal flavors and less sweetness (letting the things that dont dissolve in glycerine dissolve in the water, just shake it well) I think a sage/cannabis tincture might be a good combo, and not so sweet. just an idea, I've never tried it before.
