New Season of Whale Wars....are they helping?

New season of whale saving hippies is upon us. Sucks to hear that the last season caused in fighting due to the one of their ships being ripped in half.
I sincerely care about whales and appreciate what the sea shepards are doing, do you guys agree or would you say we have rebels here with out a cause.
Whales are like the humans of the sea, so they are high on my animal priority list, I understand Japan is doing research but why aren't they bound to their own waters? Why do they sail the earth harpooning whales?
I know they hunt Minke and Fin whales, do the japanese leave the blu whales alone or do they send their harpoon vessels after em?
Also, do the sea shepards ever steal a whale from them after they have harpooned it? I thought I saw that in a preview for it but I never got to see it myself.

I'm sorry but this show is retarded. These people don't actually do anything but get angry and throw stink bombs at whalers.
The episode of south park where they made fun of these guys basically sums up my feelings about them http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s13e11-whale-whores

yea they act like the death star is attacking, when if you really took a look at whats happening: they are following a japanese ship in the middle of no where going 5 miles an hour.
The captian holds it down, everyone else seems like people you would meet outside of Safeway trying to get you to donate money to environmental causes.
Aside from that tho, I really love whales and am happy they are bringing this issue to the masses.

i think they just make themselves look like idiots but if it makes them feel better then more power to 'em.
people are going to kill every kind of animal they can stick a sharp object into until the world ends, and there is nothing all the bleeding heart hippies can do about it.

There is definitely a moral question at hand, so when you start pulling tricks to harass the whalers, there is very complicated moral issues at hand.
No humans are getting hurt but if this is such a big issue why aren't whole governments involved...sea shepards loose credibility but somehow they come back with a new season so the game continues

and this.
i think documentaries like "the cove" have done way more for preservation than that shitty show will ever dream of. i know the cove is more about dolphins, but that was way more heartfelt and meaningful than whale wars will ever be. the south park episode summed it up perfectly, why they even decided to make a new season after that is beyond me..

Well I think bit I'm not sure that the sea shepards are trying to stop commercial whaling the reason they throw stink bombs for the fact that it ruins the whale meat and can not be sold only used as research. Which is why they are suppose to in those waters anyways.

they say its for research but the fact is that under international laws on whaling, each country is allowed to set their own annual quota for the number of whales they can kill for research. the law also allows them to sell whatever isn't used for research on the open market for human consumption. anyhow, japan sets their quota to just under a thousand total whales of several species. i think its around 935 for minke whales and smaller numbers for a couple other whale types.. i guess the japanese like to eat minke whale the best.
I don't know exactly how those numbers compare to other countries but I'm pretty sure its way higher than anywhere else. why would they need almost a thousand whales a year for "research"?

Whale wars sucks but the premise is good, try to stop whaling.
I'd like to see a human shot with a harpoon though one day so keep at it whale wars.

Those dauphins are sick, they seem like the oceans dogs, leading the way and wagging tails lol
In regards to research...AKA send whale meat to market: Its natural for us to want to eat whale as humans, in fact that is the very reason we are human and here to begin with...we are at the top of the food chain and in some regards we do have to keep an eye on whales as we would a garden, if that is that case are sea shepards weeds in our lawn or trying to make fame and glory off an issue that isn't really an issue?
Don't mean to put down the sea shepards but its looking bad for them

That is a crazy picture. Makes me think of a phoenix rising or almost looks angelic.
