Option to post anon in music, art and media?

Im sure some members are afraid to put up some art/music for fear of embarrassment. Especially beginners. I myself am pretty shy when it comes to that kinda stuff. Also when giving feedback, people tend to candy coat it. I think people would be more honest if they had a comfortable anon cloak.

I think it won't help, because it would enable a shy n00b to post anonymously, but the same goes for trolls. Of course an admin could look into the real identity of an anon poster, but should they reprimand them if they just comment something like "terrible", "horrible" or "that's some bullshit music"? Because they could always claim it's their honest opinion. It would be more of an invitation to trolls than an encouragement to timid beginners, IMHO, but I may be wrong.

Not if you are a subtle troll. You could destroy an insecure posters self confidence without obviously trolling him.

like i want to see "psychedelic art" by someone who knows its so bad, they wont even post it on an internet forum.if they are too embarrassed of ruining an already somewhat anonymous name on the internet, you know its gonna be crap.

I've been published and I'd never post anything here under my username.
That's the only way I can see this being worthwhile.
If I posted any of it here you guys would know who I am with a very quick google search.
That's the shitty part, and why I don't post any of my work.
And yes, agreed, anonymity breeds trolling.
A sticky on the new anonymous option would help.
'This doesn't give you immunity to be overly critical and is not an invitation for trolling'.
You can also state an honest opinion with getting 0 shrooms from some asshat noob,
but I think if your opinion is worth any weight and comes from some type of creative part of you, there's no sense to be anon anyway.
I'd post some of my stuff but my major reservation is simply not wanting people to know who I am in real life.
The internet made the world a hell of a lot smaller.

Ive got tons of things Ive recorded. By myself and playing with other people/bands. I would feel much more comfortable putting it up it I were anon. Newbs too. Sure you can put up a warning "be prepared for criticism". I think if theyre putting it up either way, theyre aware of the repercussions. Im aware anon breeds trolling, but isnt that what moderators are for?
Personally I think the pros outweigh the cons. I think it has the potential to bring more people music and such into the forum. New and experienced.
