I know it was a long time ago, so it's not that relevant, but I just watched a movie about this war, and I was wondering if anyone here feels that that war was justified, and if so, why?

I don't think anyone feels that war was justified, but I'm sure if we had won, it would have been justified. That's the way war works.

Check out what history has to say about the Gulf of Tonkin incident. It was used to justify the war but has proven to have been falsified. It proves the war was unjustified.

That's interesting. It often starts with a lie. First gulf war - satellites pictures of iraqui troops on the border with Saudi Arabia prepared to attack, WMD of the last war, military airport runway built by Cuban workers in Granada, ...

You've heard it all before, stopping the spread of Communism, etc...
Maybe someone else, someone a little more honest would say it helped to put a fucking ton of money into the military, which ensures the safety of America or some such nonsense.
A military does wonders to further a ruling class's world agenda...

We Were Soldiers
I liked it because of the way they portrayed both sides of the conflict.

It had some good elements. I also liked how they showed the Americans using outdated tactics, firing into the jungle when they showed up.
I will never watch that movie again tho. I kept falling asleep during the overplayed wife subplot.

My favorite is Apocalypse Now. It shows the total nonsense of the war. Escpecially the scene where they attack a village because the beach there has nice waves for surfing. If it's unreported, how did you come to know about it?

Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Because it was reported. It just isn't a big enough deal to report over and over and over.

Then saying it's an unreported fact is foolish.
