Ever been in so many different places that it takes awhile to figure out where you are?
    #14588812 - 06/10/11 02:23 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

To shift your mind to the currant time and place and people over months and then it amazes you.  Houses, rooms, motels, camping, rented studios, it's a strange feeling and mind frame to wake up to and needing a cognizance to awake to realize where you are at.

Any other travelers out there?

I traveled for a long time but luckily never experienced that then.

The worst thing like that has actually been going on lately..I've just been diagnosed with serious sleeping problems and if I don't sleep for a few days they all seem to run together...

Today I was off by three days when someone asked me the date..thought it was Tuesday but no, it was Friday..

Always wanted to be a traveler.. but have always been held down by bills n responsibility. I watched this documentary series thing called "Thumbs up America" about these two guys just train hoppin' n hitchhiking n all the adventures it led them on. It looked so liberating but they had some really tough times as well.

Was this it?

I watched the one about china, it was great.  Actually, lots of the travel-type shows from vice are cool.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is, and some chick is there for part of it, she is kinda funny and cute.

I meant to also answer the original question:

I wouldn't say I've travelled to extensively, I always have some excuse for why I cannot do it now but I have lived in a few different places and sometimes I wake up forgetting where I am.  It most often happens if I am dreaming about a place I have spent some time, then I wake up and I am confused, I am like where the fuck did this place come from, but only for a moment.

Yeah I get that feeling all the time.. I've probably moved close to 20 times between the age of 12-now (25). I'll find myself waking up looking at a wall and not remembering which building it belongs to.. for just that moment.

I'm in Winnipeg right now for a few more days, just visiting parents and helping to make sure they don't get ripped off on their 15k stereo/tv system.

Good things = No mosquitoes yet, warm but not uncomfortable, sunny.  Very low prices due to extremely tight buyers, untouched by recession, new hockey team.

Bad things = Everything else....the streets are falling apart due to the insane fluctuation of temps from winter to summer.  The people drive like they need to take a shit.  Police here hate me, I have a list of places I can't go for my own safety.  Boring, except for the forks (where rivers meet, has a cool mall with little kick ass stores) and some decent 4-5 star restaurants.

Yeah, responding to your words though not directed to me, maybe a simular experience maybe not, but the brief period when your used to a certain consciousness around you and in society and then to wake up and feeling you are in that certain place you were before and the shift to the current consciousness is a strange experience to me.

Yeah I know what you mean.

Don't mean to get out there but I could also swear that I've experienced vivid consciousness of a place before I've ever been there.  I've had dreams that seem random at the time, then I find myself in a new situation, and I get a sort of deja'vu feeling and suddenly remember the dream.  It doesn't seem to make sense or give me any sort of psychic abilities, but I always found it strange.
