Hey got about 6 jars of Ecuador cubes almost ready. Seen some fuzzy white stuff on the tops of about 3. I looked at pics of cobweb and not sure if just fuzzy mycelium on mine. Hopefully some experienced shroomers can help.

It's really hard to see through the glass. There's only a little showing on top too. It looks like you didn't put a vermiculite barrier on top, or wipe the rim with a dry paper tower after filling with substrate o_O
You could sniff it. I always smell my cakes. If it's cube myc, it will smell like the button mushrooms in the store. If it's cobweb, it will smell like wet dog or mildew. Fruity or lemony mean bacteria, which isn't necessarily bad.

No def not trolling. I am a newbie. Trust me i have done hours of research but have not seen any real good pics of cobweb. BTW I did wipe inside when did it and the dark stuff on top was dry verm. I turned them upside down cause read in another thread to get co2 out to turn them upside down. Why verm got on edges. Thanks for tips. Guess old pf tek archives said to keep foil on lid thats why did it will take them all off. Thanks again.

I did do that this site is where i found all my info. Im six weeks into growing almost 40 jars. Almost every post i clicked on about cobweb the post are so outdated that pic urls are no longer active. Keep getting tired of getting file not found why i asked on forums. I put it in growning cause meant to ask if cakes looked good to since im a newbie. Sorry if bothered anyone THANKS koolaid Saw link after i posted this. Its 100% myc ull see, thats completly normal for myc to grow up through the verm depending on how long it colonizes.

They look fine man. Next time take the foil off after inoculation and dont flip the jars. Dont worry about CO2 while they are colonizing.
This is cobweb i found in a jar about a month ago

Take note of the long hairs in a pile. Myc will look more "radial" and have tiny hairs. Cobweb is also gray looking compared to myc.
The link k00laid posted is another good one of cobweb

OK the teks i read all said to keep lids on to keep contams out. SO taking lids off wont effect this and wont they dry out quicker? Hopefully not getting too off topic here.

It's your threat buddy. you're the topic.
Let me see if I got it all right... there's no vermiculite barrier, the lids were opened (even for a second), and the cakes are not 100% colonized?
You might try spraying the surface with a little hydrogen peroxide. It won't hurt the myc, but it may stop mold spores from germinating. Add some sterilized verm to the top, and spray the top layer. Then wipe down the jar again, and put the lid on. First sign of contam, and I would birth the cake and wash off all uncolonized material.
I think molds generally take 3-7 days to go from spore to releasing spores. spray asap
