Prof_P poo tek (your results)

I was thinking of doing Prof_P's Poo Tek , and i was wondering what your results were. What was your yield? How much did everything cost you? How long did it take? Have you used a better poo tek before?
I am trying to find the cheapest way for me to grow in bulk. poo is free so if there is a good poo tek that uses mostly poo then id like to see it. Ive read many on the forums but there seems to be a debate about most things.
help is greatly appreciated!!!

Also his sub is optimized for penis envy, the most potent strain. For PE it helps to cut the manure with coir more so that you don't end up with the mutant blobs.
It's hard to beat his procedures and results.

If you just have random cube strains, I'd say you can use poop/verm/gypsum jsut fine to keep your costs down until you can afford more additives

substrate composition has little to nothing to do with how you pasteurize it :S

No, not necassrily. Substrate composition (per say) has little to do with pasteurization, true (try pasteurizing wheat straw like manure). With manure however, the amount of substrate you pasteurize at once, the way you apply the water as your heat transfer medium, the container you use to hold the materials being pasteurized, and the device you use to pasteurize in matters. Prof_P's tek uses roasters and spawn bags for pasteurization, RR uses quart jars, a large pot, and a stove top.
The more materials you pasteurize at once, the longer it takes for the core of the materials to become the proper temperature (140-150F). When using the simple stove top method for pasteurizing large amounts of substrate at once, it then becomes imperative that you use bags and purchase a separate meat thermometer to gauge the water in the pot, transferring the heat to the substrate materials, making sure it doesn't exceed 165F during each entire pasteurization cycle. Using quart jars, the materials pretty much heat up as fast as the water does.
Trashcansean, I'd strongly recommend, when beginning to learn to pasteurize, going with RR's method of pasteurization in the quart jars. It's pretty full proof, rapid happening, and most of us have quart jars, a large pot, and water from the tap at our disposal. Pasteurize a few rounds of materials that way. Gain a better understanding of how the pasteurization process takes place before embarking on more advanced methods of obtaining pasteurization.

potato potato.
both load substrates in containers.
then use water as heat transfer method.
its just easier to maintain 160 for however many hours you want in a countertop roaster.
