Is this a good quicker-drying technique?
    #1458405 - 04/14/03 10:37 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I read on some tek that it's a good idea to cut your shrooms into smaller portions longwise and to cut the head off before drying with a fan. It makes sense because there's more surface area. Has anyone ever done this? It will dry faster, but I was wondering if cutting it could possibly reduce potency in any way. Any thoughts?

I would worry about potency loss due to oxidization. Anyone experience this?

ya my donkey doesnt cut his mushis unless they are very large ( contamination can set in to slow dryiong mushrooms). but ya its not worth risking lost psylocin by oxidization. my donkey has notcied that his bruised fruits tend to give less visual trips. its funny how people think mushrooms that are totally blue must be really good. its like, ya they were good before the psychoactive chemical broke down and gave it that blueish tint ur admiring! yeah, and then they all think im a bullshitter trying to act smart.

think for urself, and question authority

What kind of fan should one go about using? Do you place them directly on the grill? How do you make it so they dont fall off? Hah thanks, just need some answers to dumb questions.

You don't need anything fancy. Just put them in front of a fan for a couple of days. If you live in a dry climate, that'll dry them cracker dry. Otherwise, after a couple of days in front of a fan, stick them in an airtight container with some desiccant. Read the FAQ at:

My technique is working very well. I bought a 6 dollar Honeywell Turbo Fan, which is powerful as all hell for its size and whisper quiet. We put our first shrooms on the wall in our closet with thumb tacks, and then put the Turbo Fan almost right up against them on the Hi setting. The first shroom was cracker dry in less than a day.

Thanks guys!

If you are drying small fruits in an arid climate, yes.

For sure.... like I said, my first shroom was cracker-dry in a day... this is Michigan and it gets pretty fuckin humid, but tacked on the wall in a small closet with a good fan on high, I don't think it matters.
