Thanks. They taste awesome too!! They are actually an oyster mushroom. The Pleurotus Djamor. Stir fry these in a pan with some oil, red onions, diced potatoes, cut the Oysters up kinda small like about the size of a small shell fish, add yer seasoning such as salt, pepper or whatever. Tell ya what they taste like shell fish. I felt like I was eating meat with my potatoes only it was a mushroom. When I mixed in some of those blues it was kinda like eating some steamers. I was in food eatin heaven. Healthy eatin too like you have been hearing. Definately Gourmet food.
Oh I should have given you the, celery, brocoli, homegrown pepper, pink and blue Oysters thin sliced, all sorts of spices( I have a spice cabinet and I am not afraid to use it), small amount of potatoes diced so that it accents the dish not overpowering it, oil, mix and cook on medium low heat for about 20-30 minutes then mix in 1 lb or whatever amount you need for how much food you want to make of ground sausage. Cook until done... talk about an extremely happily fed family... kaching!

I make my food usually without a recipe and am new to the Oysters. Thus the comment about having a spice cabinet. And as much as I love having a full fridge with endless choices, I love it when there is no food and I have to be creative. It challenges me. And some of them I haven't tried with the Oysters yet so not too sure it will be a proper taste accent. But I will happily share once I know for sure.

markos - will do. I know how important and helpful pictures have been to me over the years researching this site and the forums. It feels pretty cool to be able to try and give something back.

Ok this is the 2nd flush of the same baskets. I had done up some straw to spawn some more pinks and blues yesterday but.. well as it was father's day the straw sat and now I am going to have to repasteurize today and delay another day. The outside of the bag is pretty dry not sure the inside. I suppose I can check and see if the inside is still wet enough to just spawn it as is. Its only 1 extra day after all..
But these blues are looking better I think with the increased FAE from the 2 fans. The pinks are super flat and look to be enjoying the FAE as well. Picked that huge one last night.

Here are some updates with pics. w00t w00t. I love pics. I lost a bunch of Pink Oyster baskets and I have 4 Blues going. As you can see. The blues I used some garden lime and had no problems. Actually they colonized the straw in no time flat as you can see by some of the pics full colonization pretty much. And still haven't worked out the FAE for the blues yet, but I am getting TONS of them from these baskets. I am thinking I am going to stick with pinks for all my baskets for now just to get all my shelves filled with food. Seems the pinks do very good with the fae I have, but the blues are going to require a little bit more engineering to accomodate their requirements. Anyways here's the Oyster pr0n.

trying to increase fae for the blues...
