The thread says it all. In this extraordinary find, I harvested a P. Cubensis that weighed OVER one pound (wet weight) with a stipe of over 6 inches in circumference and a cap measuring over 10 inches in diameter! Over 60 pounds of P. Cubensis was harvested from this location in a season. Enjoy the pics. I enjoyed everything about this discovery!

I believe we've all just been 'd

Well let me explain, Super Mario eats mushrooms in the video game and he also wears gloves like those.
I swear I remember him holding up a mushroom like that, too.

Last year, me and my girlfriend found a huge patch of Amanita Muscaria var. Formosa. Needless to say, we never got to drying them and they rotted fairly quickly I've gone back to the same spot several times this year and fond nothing at all. None. I search around for awhile for other spots they could have grown and again found none... Too bad. They were beautiful.

Come to London. In late September I reckon I could find maybe 5,000 A. muscaria.

I am in So Cal, and have not gone on too many forays, but will again.
On my best day, I found both Shaggy Manes:

and Lepista Nuda:

Take care,

elPrawn ID'ed the wrong specimen. He was supposed to slap a label on your son, which might I add he is as photogenic of a specimen as that Stropharia. He that shroom look huge.
Also, my gut tells me your kid is going to be (if he isn't already) one hell of a hunter/ID'er.

Either the day i picked these
 dried down to 6 ozs.
or the day i picked these

tons of Chanterelles, Lobsters and Hedgehogs pretty early in the season--late august.
Or maybe the panaeolopsis but the pics i have are embarrassingly bad.
