can anyone ID my find?

i live in california, and me and my friends went hunting today and found these growing on wood chips in a lush valley... they were near cow feilds, but not growing on dung...i would spore print, but they are all wet and i dont think i'll get anything out of them... the larger ones have dark brown under cap, and the younger ones are cinimon brown...anyone have a guess?thanks!

we need more info for a good id. someone will be along to give u a good id if you give us more info use the format in the sticky thread at the top of this forum. id guess stropharia or panaleous of some sort but im not to good at iding the non-actives. peace

I found the same things in a horse pasture last year. I've got 3 guesses as to the genus:

1. Stropharia
2. Agrocybe
3. Psathyrella

fuck it, if you cant guess its no big deal, i no there not active, and i wouldnt dare eat them, just though someone would guess, as for more info, what more do you want but a spoer print? they were under tall grass, and under fallen trees, there about 3 inches tall, and the caps range form 1 to 2 inches , the gills are not even, and like i said, they are soaked so i dont think i could get a spore print...

I think people are willing to help ID your find, we just need more information to do it. Using just the photos and the little you've told us so far we can't even get to which genus. With a bit more info you might get to species.

Probably the biggest would be taking a spore print and letting us know what color it is.

A full description in the form Mr_Mushrooms laid out would help a lot.
