Cats pooping in my outdoor bed

The local strays started using my outdoor bed as a litter box. Now there are 5 cat turds in my bed and a billion flies. The bed consists of woodchip spawn covered with scotts nature scapes and for some reason they like it. Anyone have any good ideas on how to deter them from doing this ? Also...will this cat poo/pee harm the mycellium ? I don't want to harm these animals so please keep those suggestions to yourself.

A small mousetrap with catfood on it will snap and scare the hell out of them, but not cause injury. I have to do this to keep my neighbors cats out of my sawdust pile. It works, and nobody can bitch, because it doesn't hurt them. RR

If they are stray cats, eat some mushies one night, get your red rider BB Gun and have fun...

Had a cat problem at camp once. Fucker kept getting into the food and tents so we put a trash can on it's side with liver in the back. Then hung a 220 conibear from the handle. Well, this made a cat bend in ways it never knew it could.

Cats pooping in moist soil? Sounds a bit weird.

It is weird and I've been out there hosing new grass often and hitting it with water. I just looked on a gardening website and dry unbrewed coffee grounds were suggested. I'm going to try that.

I would think it would be better to mix coffee into the sub. Potential contamination. You'll probably have a mold garden next to your crop.
I'd go with anything that makes a loud noise. In order to train our cat to not jump onto the counters, we propped up tin cans that would fall when they were touched. You could also get some chicken wire and just fence it off.
A dog will tear up every bit of yard that is not fenced off. And I don't think the op needs another shit machine running around.

I have a pug and a cat, I hate them both equally......Although tripping around my pug makes me laugh when I look at him.

Not if it's properly trained. Our dog will carefully circle the garden area to avoid stepping on the Mrs' precious plants, even when chasing a deer away. Our dog also knows better than to shit in the yard, ever. That's what neighbors' yards are for. RR
