Other ways to reproduce mushrooms without making spore print print

I am just beginning my research on growing mushrooms, but was wondering if you can reproduce mushrooms without making a spore print. What are other methods that you can do?

LC, GLC, clone, iso on agar, G2G...
if I'm missing something someone else please chime in...

Whats GLC? Grain liquid culture?
Also can you lop off a bit of mushroom and throw it into a jar? I thought u had to go through agar first?
I think you got all of them, for cubes at least. Woodlovers can do cardboard spawn, which is kinda a division of LC, G2G and cloning.

Use the search, that is what it is there for, then ask questions about the procedure.

For cloning, I tear the mushroom in half and using my scalpel, I take a rice sized sample from the base of the stem and transfer to agar, no h202,etc. I usually make 2 tri-section plates of my clone. I take the cleanest section and make another tri-section plate from that to get my wedges. Then I do the following for my GLC...
I gave up trying regular LC's and only do WBS GLC's now. I take WBS and soak it for 24 hours in 1/3 coffee, gypsum and hydrated lime (to offset PH from coffee). Then I simmer the WBS in the soaking solution for 10 minutes, and steam strain like in RR's vids. I let them sit in the strainer until I can take a small hand full of WBS and put it on toilet paper for 10 seconds without it wetting the paper. Then I very loosely load narrow half pint, or pint jars half way up, put on my lid (I use RTV and RTV'd Tyvek squares), cover with foil and PC at 15 psi for 60 min. Let cool naturally, then I noc with an agar wedge. After 30-40% colonization, I give them a good shake. Then they are done 2-3 days later. At that point, I inject sterile H20, shake, suck back up and noc up what ever I am inoculating at that point. Works every time, the WBS is so good, I won't even bother with anything else now. Even on MS nocs, you'd be amazed at how fast loose WBS colonizes. It's actually strange. A lot of times, the WBS jar will re-colonize after taking a GLC sample from it if you use really long needles and suck out all the water you can.

Go to 46:15 in this video:
He uses one jar colonized with mycelium to inoculate ten other jars. Is this the most popular method of reproduction? Do you guys prefer to use rye grain as the substrate because in the video the first method he uses with vermiculite, brown rice flour and water does not allow you to reproduce by mixing it into other jars like with the rye grain.

so i think thats all them then
unless you count mycelium in sterile water,
i wonder if someone could come up with something else new

isn't that GLC? ...
I've heard of spawning bulk to bulk before, but never recommend it as that's really touchy & a waste of time/effort IMHO.

That's called grain to grain transfer. Personally, grain to grain tranfers is my favorite method of inocualting more grain mediums.
Use WBS or rye.

that video is of a Grain to Grain (G2G).
That's how we make 1 jar equal 10 equal 100 equal 1000...Quote:
