I've been looking at mining but the recent difficulty jumps are making small time mining quite hard and I don't really have a spare grand to build a decent miner :\
Really interested in it though, considering building a few projects around it.
For what it's worth, they're currently at about $10.5USD/Bitcoin.

Haha I heard of bit coins before. It's might as well be compared to third world currency. Useless.

You can't tax something that people don't know you have. There's no names, ID, addresses or even (really) IPs. It doesn't specifically go through any single channel either. The swarm handles it.

That would be a lot of computer power. How does one benefit from receiving bit coins?

Hi everybody. If you bought 50$ worth of bitcoins while discussing it in this thread, and then you held onto your 50$ worth of bitcoins it would currently be worth 33,000$

Currently currency is an agreed upon value set by what people will pay. Like $39 = 4oz Gyokuro green tea BitCoin is the same as it relies on an agreed upon value. Currently 50.65BTC(bitcoin)= $39 = 4oz Gyokuro green tea(if the person selling accepts BTC)
But, you would have to buy bitcoin with real money? so it is just adding another step?
Damn most expensive tea ever hope you learned something and took the advice cheers to you if you did mate..

just for historical reference if you bought $50 worth at the price then of $10.5 USD and held it. It would now be worth $238,095.23 at a price of $50,000 per btc and a market cap of one trillion USD will be interested to see what it is 10 years from now hello from the past I hope Mars is fun, shrooms are legal and you are super rich from buying btc..
