ha my hardest trip was on 30 fully matured caps and it was the worst experience ever, never again lol @shapeshifter are the mushrooms all goey and mushy? They dont sound good to eat to me. I find that if i pick some bug infested or haggared fungus that if i get them dry asap that their stil ok but if the caps are dark a flimsz there not good to pick, is this what yours look like?

They have dried fine, they are cracker dry, the stem is still white and the gills are still brown, the caps are just really black.
No biggie anyway, think i might just turf them, and keep the OK ones.
Should be good pickings soon with this weather!

show pics.
my trip on saturday was fucked, after thinking about it the next day i know why. i had 60g of "fresh" (which were actually semi-dried from the sun, the rest of our shrooms dropped to 1/5 of their weight rather than 1/10, and they're cracker dry)... so i had roughly ~10g dried when i was expecting to have about 6g. started feeling really sick but unable to vomit. at this point, still having a good time, just watching the simpsons and few other shows with friends who had 10g fresh (~2g dry). one of them isn't very good with hallucinogenics and gets quite fidgety on many drugs, and he just kept pissing us off because he wouldn't listen to our advice. so that started to annoy me. then the worst bit was my vision. i've had massive doses of both shrooms and acid and i've never experienced something like this... my eyes seemed to be closing in (physically) and visually everything was blurry and i couldn't focus on one thing. it also kinda felt like i was crosseyed. tried to sleep after a while and couldn't, ended up having 2 valium which finally calmed me down.
i was very close to just giving the rest of my share away and swearing off mushrooms forever. it was the most traumatic thing of my life, and i'm a very strong minded person who has never (until now) had a bad trip. had another 1.5g completely dry the next day and didn't feel anything, i usually have a high tolerance to acid/shrooms so i'm guessing the night before's massive dose kicked it way up.
anyway, just thought i'd share...

for the few asking about amintas there's a shitload around even know it's been so dry. Here's some pictures and the habitats, They seem to love it under these old rustic sort of pines or what ever they are.

Anyone finding anything at the moment? Went to a couple of places my friend said he found hundreds last year, and couldn't find a thing. Is it possible I got the wrong place, or can patches disappear year to year? Or maybe because it's been so dry... I'm not sure.
I found plenty of redhead pins (not the good kind of redhead pins ), but no subs.

FFFUUU-
I must have pretty bad luck then, or maybe just bad at spotting them. Are you talking about finding kilos in Melbourne or outside Melbourne?

Little grub getting in on the action
Taken today about 4 oclock, NE suburbs. Didnt pick em, the ones in the first few pics were the only half decent ones, a few more like the 2nd bottom pick and then shit loads of black, dried up rotten stems, about a week or 2 to late Hopefully this rain and cold weather over the next few days brings em up!

They are definitely about!
I found a spot a few weeks back with hundreds of subs, unfortunately I was to late and they had all rotted.
I checked back a few days ago before the rain. Plenty of pins about, just wondering how long does it take from being a pin to being big enough to pick?
There has been a fair bit of rain out this way in the last few days, I don't want to be too late this time!

Finally got my food dehydrator in the mail yesterday, need to pick it up from the P.O today. Might go for a pick later and give it a test run. Does anyone know how long it might take to dry in a food dehydrator? I honestly have no clue, also you guys reckon that it might effect the potency in any way? I'm assuming that a lot of air exchange occurs during operation. but I guess it will be ok so long as I dry them intact and so only the surface is exposed ?

Ye that's what I was planning to do, it has a temp range of 30C to 70C I think, I'll probably keep it at about half way. Roughly how many mushrooms can I powder and cram into an '000' size cap? Presumably powdered mushrooms need to be kept in airtight storage so as to avoid the increased degradation caused by the aggrandized number of fruitful collisions between oxygen and the compounds it oxidises, caused by the increased surface area.

Hey guys, I went for my first big hunt in the bush this morning (got lost twice xD) and I found pretty much every other species besides subs.
I liked the look of this shroom though, nice dark colour.

I don't think I looked hard enough, but would I be able to find subs in grass like this?
