Do you read the newspaper or follow the news?
    #14572537 - 06/07/11 01:17 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

are you aware of what's going on in the world and around your city?

as i start my career and finish my degree i am turning into a news hound (news hound sounds better than news junkie...fact)

imma be a reporter...i wanna be the drunk reporter at the denver post that no one likes to talk about...ill deal with a profession with the highest or one of the highest suicide and divorce rates and deal with god awful hours and deadlines but ill get to run around and smooze with rich bastards and drink good scotch and smoke fine cigars and talk about the world with interesting people

any of you studying journalism/mass communication?

I read the newspaper and watch news when I come home from work at 6 in the morning because it's the only thing on TV besides Sportscenter and the Weather Channel. I like the newspaper, though. My own voice in my head rather than some stupid fuck on TV stumbling around like a blind retarded one legged kangaroo is preferred.

I just read it when I was trying to remember his name. Kiszla thinks we should fire everyone in Denver. I fucking can't stand him.

I follow international news and federal politics pretty closely but I'm ashamed to say I'm not so caught up with local politics. And I'm always the one who berates people for obsessing over large-scale politics they can't influence instead of small-scale politics they can... :picard:

 @ "the news"

I'm surprised that for a community of people that claim to not be sucked into the sheepie mentality so many people religiously follow "the news".  Have you guys not noticed that it is comprised of a bunch of negative stories?  The ONLY things reported on the news are natural disasters, murders, negative messages to the community, and crime and violence.

The "news" is the adult equivalent of high school drama IMO.
