this is all from reading like a mad man on the shroomery for many months. im a noob at making posts, so respect my disability. any advice i could get would be greatly apreciated. ive never sucessfully use casing material other than vermiculite and im pretty sure im ready to give it a try, with some help. well[image]http://www.shroomery.org/forums/thumbs/11-23/743342711-thumb_2010-12-11_12-57- 56_343.jpg[/image], this was my biggest success on poo so far.. i made a big poo patty with verma and treated it like a brf cake. it was spawned with popcorn... so i quit for a while.. now here is the new show that i need advice with.. ...so a question i know right now is.. i have some amjor condensation im my two monos..(first ones ever)so i opeded the lids for a lil bit as you can see.. is this ok to let them open like that.. it defeats the purpose of the tyvek.. how about my colonozation on them.. how many days should i wait to case or should i just do it the way i did my first one and just give it fruting conditions.. i have plentyof jiffy mix 50/50. i realy want to try it out.. i can pasturize it very easily.. sugesstions please

Looking good. Now if you are keeping all of your jars like that in a box, that is no bueno as the heat builds up and can cause contamination. remember that the mycelium produces heat and the internal temp of the jar is higher than than the ambian room temp. Yes it is ok to open your tub and fan, this will help with pin set. If those tubs are a poo sub you don't nessesarly have to case to get fruits, but if you do wait till the mycelium has consolidated the entire sub. Looks ready for a casing.

from what i read about late casing it sounds pretty good. but even witht hat lil piece of poo still black like that.. doesnt that mean its not fully colonized yet and not time for casing. uhg i cant get my head around this casing strategy.. theres too many ways to succeed

so i guess ill case em tonight ant let them incubate for a few more days. never used jiffy mix before. i hope its simple as field capacity, pasturizing and applying. today i accidenty brought my hpoo to 165, is this to much?.. ive already made a mono tub with it anyway, only because i thought i have brought hpoo to 175 before with results. here is the latest of the small tubs . and the new tub. my first large tub.. i found it very hard to be sterile with this thing.. cutting the plastic and put my hand into it all... i hope it works

dude you are stressing way too much. as long as your spawn is clean and your clean and not careless your fine. keep it simple, and the less steps the less likely you are to fuck up.

Look good brother, keep it up! Like cyan said I wouldn't stress to much, keep it clean and you'll be A. OK. Good vibes and good luck!

royal fuck uppp.. im guessing this is a result of my sub being above field capacity.... serious bummer boys and girls check it out so i i dabbed very lightly witha papaer towel to soak it upp.. may have beena stuid thing to do but i couldnt just leave it there.. damnit and i thought things were rolling along smoothly.. will this fuck up my entire tub... do you think it will still fruit atleast something.. and to update the lil tubs.. i cased them after four days of light exposure.. i wanted to wait for the first pins to show but i had to much condensation in there i thought it was neccisary to put a casing layer in there to help it out.. i wont give up until i get this right... please, any positive feedback is wanted. im so close to getting this down!

You should try to loosen the polyfil a lot more if you haven't already. Maybe fan a lot more without misting. I could be wrong and if the sub is just too wet then I don't know if there is to much you could do but I definitely think it is savable. I would wait for some more experienced cultivators to comment but I think you still have a shot at making it work. Think positive thoughts!

Fill in that spot with verm, it will pull out some of the water from the sub.

I generally dont pat dry my tubs... If there is too much standing water, i generally just tilt it at an angle and let the water run off to the sides to be absorbed later... Supplement with more fanning...
There is no need to add any vermiculite or anything else to the top of it...

serious question.. i have a large mono tub/tubs that i noticed on the last bit of poo that was not colonized started to get a whitish greyish mold growing on it.. when i opened it up and fanned it "stupid move" the air inside smelled not as fresh and when i breathed it,it made me feel slightly off, like wierd. is this super dangerous??? could i possibly die from this.. im sure prolonged exposure to any unknown mold is not smart. i will take a pics tomorrow. any way the mycelium seems to be winning even tho the poo had gotten hit by something.
