Japanese Knotweed and the SE
    #14569978 - 06/06/11 03:31 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Don't know if this thread will get deleted also, but here goes.

Knowing my fellow hunters in the SE, and what a hard time it is searching, I've decided to post this link that I found today.
Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata is noted for it's close friendship with Japanese knotweed.
You figure it out.

Happy hunting!:mushroom2:

It grows perfectly fine without it. You are missing potential habitat if you limit searches to knotweed.

I also understand that. However, from what I've read Bluefoots are mainly found near recently flooded riverbanks. Which is also where the knotweed grows. I've also heard it's easier to find them on the eastern side of the river in low-lying brush.
I am not an expert by any means, so any more information you can give me to narrow down search parameters would be helpful. I intend to go hunting soon and ANY relative info would surely be needed.
I also understand they like a cooler temp. Is that true?
Thanks.

Do you mean p.caerulipes (bluefoot) or p.ovoideocystidiata? I've never found a bluefoot.

Bluefoot's. They are said to enjoy the company of knotweed. That's is REALLY all I know.
And I like bacon.
That's it.
