Flow Hood Question
    #14569200 - 06/06/11 12:29 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Just read Aleon's thread, (and the related debate with loucal)...

I have a very nice flowhood and am having serious contamination problems.

My question is: Should I leave the flowhood on all the time?  Or just when I'm doing transfers?

On a lighter note, I just grew my first Reishi!

I'm doing my first grow and a friend suggested (and I remember reading in GGMM) using controls throughout the process to help figure out the source of contams--maybe it's not your hood.  I'm not an experienced grower, but it seems like good advice to me.

Oh yeah, congrats on your reishi!

A flowhood should be in a small, closed up room.  Run it for an hour or so before beginning work so it can scrub the air.

I was always told to keep it on all the time, just running on the lowest speed so that there is always air movement over the filters.

But I will check this up with a lab supply company as well.
