It looks like Skyrim is adopting some Bioshock 2 elements. It looks alright, but I don't like the idea that there is unlimited generated dragons in the game.
I hope level scaling disappears. Seriously that is the worst part of Bethesda games.

Well according to Elder Scrolls lore, Dragons are supposed to be super-rare, not frequent enough to justify skill progression by killing them. They are supposed to be like elder God type deals.
Bethesda is raping the lore.
Although i'm more frightened of the thought that level scaling might stay

Yeah, level scaling is a bad idea.
I know what you mean about the lore but it doesn't bother me too much. As games progress the lore changes, the Warcraft series is a good example of this. Maybe it should, maybe it shouldn't. As long as it's an enjoyable game and I'm not being bum-raped by dragons every 30 seconds I won't mind.

More overly gratuitous graphics that I'm numb to that takes away from storyline development and numbers of quests. Less books, more voice acting that takes up half the disk space. No danger, no fun. Smaller world, stereotypical environments. Less weapons than morrowind, more limitations on spells. Less back story, less mystery. Shallow, boring game for shallow, boring people.
they haven't mentioned anything about any of that being true or anything. you're making pretty blind assumptions about a game calling it shallow 5 months before it's even released.

Although on a brighter note, It seems to be that Bioware is flipping off the writers on their staff more than Bethesda.
Seriously [Regarding Cerberus in Mass Effect]:
ME2 "We have pooled most of our resources into rebuilding you Shepherd, you are humanities last hope and we will do anything to protect you"
ME3 "Fuck you Shepherd, we are working for the reapers now, how's that for a stereotypical plot twist?!!"

Is there a new engine for skyrim? If so I can pretty much guarantee that almost all of those assumptions will prove to be correct.

I think it will be alright. From what we have been shown, Skyrim's world is the exact same size as Oblivion maybe just a little bit smaller. The engine looks basically like a tweaked version of the one that they are using.
I can only hope that the monsters don't turn into flash and run away faster than you can catch up to them when you are powerful like they can in Fallout or Oblivion.
My other hope is that they have more than 5 people doing all of the voices.

It might be a little smaller but remember not all areas of the Oblivion map were accessable. In Skyrim they've said you can climb every mountain and all that jazz.

Yeah, he's rather emotionally invested in this game.
I think when the hype dies down and the smoke clears, the game will be a 6-7/10
Small maps and unlimited randomly generated dragons are definitely a sure-fire way of determining that a game developer is spending more money on advertising and not development.

They don't want slaying dragons to feel epic, because 95 % of their customer base would be unable to achieve it if it were actually difficult.

Looks nifty, but hopefully Nintendo starts pumping out some quality like Ocarina of Time and starts putting mature games on their console again.
