Cordycep Mycelium preparation?

Hello, I searched around but couldnt really find any info on the subject. I'm planning on growing out Cordycep myc. in some grain jars, because I heard the myc. has just as much medicinal properties as the mushroom itself.
My question is, after the myc. has grown throughout the grain, how would I prepare it for consumption?

You should still try to fruit it, at least a few samples. Due to the high rate of mixed up cultures here, you want to be sure you are growing the correct species.

If I were going to prepare cordyceps mycelium for ingestion, I would dump the substrate onto a dehydrator until dry, pulverize into powder, then enjoy in your favorite manner. In China, traditionally it is put into soups, but I enjoy it in Smoothies and chocolate. You can also put it into capsules. Commercially, mycellium is harvested from lc and supplemented rice. I would check out wbastz post on his successful grow of cordyceps and speeker's links speeker.tk for a deluge of information.

C. militaris can be grown on grain easily enough. Mine kind of stalled out once they started to form pins but I neglected them.

I can try to dig up pics. Like I said it stalled once fruiting started so I didn't get nice antlers or anything. But the mycelium grew with no problem. There are pics on the forum of other grows where people have successfully fruited them.
I found a paper somewhere that suggested growing on white millet and white sorghum. I think it was 4:1 millet:sorghum. Then once my jar fully colonized I would stick it in a plastic bag and put it in the fridge for a day or so, then pull it out, then back in the fridge. Again that was from some paper. It seemed to stimulate metabolite formation as the myc started getting nice and orange after being in the fridge a few times.
Most of my process was pretty half assed as I wasn't paying too much attention to it. But I don't see why anyone would have trouble growing the myc. Fruiting may take some experimentation.

Well like I said I didn't find it challenging at all to grow the mycelium. It took kind of a long time to fully colonize the grain but that's it. I believe I used a mix of millet and quinoa. I don't know if it was exceedingly easy but it didn't pose any challenges above and beyond any other grain jar. Any pic I find isn't going to teach you anything as it will just look like a grain jar of spawn.
What issues are you running into growing c. militaris?

Any medicinal mushroom or mushroom mycelium must be prepared as a tea or hot water extract, but I am not sure that mycelium grown out on grain is able to be extracted. Also, only the Cs-4 strain of mycelium has the same actives as the fruitbody. We have tested every Cordyceps mycelium supplement and mycelial strain and have not found any that have the same actives as the Cs-4 strain. jds33

Thanks, very informative.
So it probably wouldn't work if brewed a tea out of some colonized grain?
