My 4th attemp before asking for help.

I'm using a shotgun set up with wetted perlite at the bottom. It stays about 79 - 82 in the chamber. I just recently checked my jars that i had marked to be taken out on Tuesday after a week of full colonization, but today there were already long pins growing.
Then I check my other jars and one that was about 80% colonized had lots of pins to. I was told by a friend to go ahead and put them in the fruiting chamber, so i did. I have some pictures of the cakes and my set up, anything to help would be great. I just turn the light on every now and then for ambient light for the mushrooms to grow towards.

yo, that is the looooooooooooooooongest pin i've ever seen!
whats your incubation chamber like? do you use one?
light cycle should be 12 on, 12 off. i like mine for 9am, 9pm, just cuz.
does your fc have holes in the top? i cant see them from the picture. actually, does it have holes at all?
"1/4 inch holes, 2 inches apart, on all six sides." just for emphasis.
higher fc temps and low fae rates will lead to long spindly mushies, low temps and high fae will make short fatties.
when i get early pins, i leave them bitches in the jar till the whole cake is ready. no use in sacrificing a whole cake for some over eager pins. but in THIS case, youve got a lot of pins, soooooooo....i think you did the right thing. but did you dunk and roll?
looks good to me, for now. how'd your other grows go? did you use the same fc?

Thanks for the advice. I didn't dunk and roll because I wasnt sure if I should with them pinning already, so should I its only been like a hour. I have 8 holes spread evenly on each side, my last attemps I had to many and couldn't keep the humidity high enough.

I'm not the most experienced, but I've been lurking here for a while. For a mono-tub, I believe the tek calls for 1/4 inch holes drilled every 2 square inches. You can modify that based on your needs. For instance, I have a bag fruiting chamber with 1/8th holes punched every square inch for the bottom 6 inches and it's working out fine.
You need more fresh air. Your mushrooms are skinny with small caps because of no fresh air, and they are moldy because of stagnant air. Fresh unfiltered air works well to fight mold.
You still need to dunk and roll. The verm acts as a barrier for contams, as well as traps humidity to trigger pins. The dunking is because the fruiting mushrooms are going to suck up a lots of water. You can add a little verm on top/bottom too, so then you can mist verm instead of the cake.

I've dunked with full shrooms on the cake & they still grew out. My cakes got dry in 1 batch so I just dunked them for a few hours and they grew really well. Doubt that it is a recomendation, but it worked for me.

I'm dunking them now. How long should I leave them in the water for?

Quick correction - this is the optimal setup for a SGFC (shotgun fruiting chamber.)
Most on the board refer to a monotub as a bulk substrate container in which the entire bottom part of the tub is colonized with mycelium, and the moisture in the substrate keeps the air humid enough for growth (no perlite/hydroton/etc.) They usually have a few larger holes along the sides at near substrate-depth level packed with polyfil to keep humidity levels high.
There are also shotgun monotubs which are just monotubs with small holes instead of a few large holes.

yeah, ummm... good call with dunk and roll. thats REAlLLLLLLy important.
also, you should get around to fixing that fc. its crazy to think that the teks work 99.99% of the time. well, maybe not crazy, that was a sarcastic remark.
if your humidity wont behave, how much perlite do you have in the bottom? should be at least 4 inches. sounds like a lot, but it works.
so, dunk, roll, set the light to 12/12, fix the holes in your fc, and make sure you have enough perlite. and TADA, you got it!

Wow you guys wouldn't believe how much help this is compared to reading through all the bs some people post. I have aabout 3 and half inches of perlite so i figure ill be fine. If you had green mold spot on one side of the cake that is pinning would you throw out the whole cake or just cut it in half and let the pins grow? these are half pint jars and it has 6 pins on it in the jar already. I had a friend say cut it off then spray it with peroxide?

Quarantine it immediately.
You can fruit it, just not with the others. I hear there's no known toxic green molds. There's a few geto teks for fruiting single cakes, like using a zip-lock bag or a 2-liter bottle. I would try to scrape it off somehow. I've heard of spraying with peroxide.

You may want to spray your main fruiting chamber with some peroxide. It shouldn't hurt the mycelium, the question is if it will kill any mold spores. If you can see the mold, then chances are it has developed to the point where it can spread it's spores.
